The Boys (Mick, John and Nathan) plus Alicia, who is proving to be a real joy on holiday as she is happy to try anything bar meat and mushrooms, all took to the hills today on a buggy (for John, Nathan and Alicia) and a quad for Mick.  Janet, Janice and I had a leisurely morning before we shot up to the Last Castle to join them for lunch along with our lovely friends Barry, Lynne and Joseph and their 'holiday buddies' as we did four years ago in 2013.  It was a lovely chance to catch up although a bit difficult with us on such a long table!!! but it was our only opportunity this year and we were glad that they had been able to make it.  I shall be sampling the delights of the Last Castle again next week when Mum and Dad and I meet up with my cousin Nicholas and his wife.  Anyway good old Alicia sampled the 'beans' and enjoyed them along with lots of the village bread, chips and salad!  It was windy up at Viklari but a nice cooling wind on what was a very hot day, we are hoping the weather remains good as I have seen some rain forecast for the beginning of September.  John's cousin Karen and her partner Dip arrived yesterday and our friends Mark and Laura arrive tomorrow.

John took the Wheelers all over the island, out to Argaka and Agia Marina  through the orange groves then up through the Akourdaleias and Kathikas, Peyia to Oniros for the obligatory photograph with the wreck before climbing the hill up to the Last Castle for lunch and a welcome rest to the bones with Mick in hot pursuit.

After lunch they explored Akoursos, Kathikas, Theletra, Steni and Peristerona and the coastline back to the villa whilst I took Janice and Janet window shopping as I had forgotten it was Wednesday afternoon and the majority of the small shops would be shut!  Still not to worry as we have a proper shopping day planned for tomorrow so that Alicia can get some gifts and Janice can have a good look at the clothes shops, Janet and I are tagging along as bag carriers!!

It is really great that they seem to be having a really good holiday, they love the villa and its location and after the boat trip yesterday Janice is keen to do another before they return home on Sunday.  Alicia has never been on a boat before and took it all in her stride!

We returned home to Droushia feeling rather tired and the temperature dropped so we didn't sit outside for long and retreated to the conservatory where it was warm and we were all feeling a bit drowsy so did the sensible thing and opted for an early night - we have a busy day again tomorrow.
