The Family's Last Full Day

Not too much to say about today except that it was Janice and Mick and Nathan and Alicia's last full day and they spent it by rehiring the boat they hired previously and sailing along the coast this morning.  The boat had obviously been a great success for everyone concerned which was good news.  Janice might be fussy about a lot of things but she LOVES a boat trip!

John's cousin and her partner are here for a month staying in the Universal area of Paphos on a fact finding mission to see if they can bag themselves a holiday apartment.  They came up today because they wanted to see where we lived, were taking us down to Latchi later and joining all the family for the last supper.

The rural charm of Droushia was totally lost on Dip who is by admission a city boy but he was still interested in our home and what we had done to it - it was just not for him.  They have fallen in love with the Universal Area (which never used to exist when we first came on holiday) but for them and their families it is an ideal location and is new and modern.

We ate at Molos.  We had the prime table right by the harbour and it was a warm and balmy evening and it was buzzing.  Everyone enjoyed it although for the first time this holiday Alicia made a bum choice with her meal not realising that risotto was going to be like rice pudding and she didn't like rice pudding!

It was an opportunity to celebrate John's forthcoming 50th birthday and the family showered him with all things Sheffield United and I do mean ALL things from a tin of sweeties to a proper shirt.  He was thrilled and it was so nice for the family to be there to witness him opening his gifts.

Alicia had wanted to buy him something special just from her so when we had gone to the Mall we had chosen a coffee percolator and some ground coffee with a nice expresso mug and spoon as he is partial to a decent cuppa and only really gets it when we go down to our posh friends Di and Rob (they have a fandabbydozie coffee machine).

We have been so chuffed to be able to get to know our god-daughter now that she is turning into a lovely young woman - she took everything in her stride and enjoyed every minute except for the bugs.

When we went shopping I kept pulling her leg and saying to her that if she was overweight to go home she could leave the top she had been wearing as I really liked it so I was blown away when she presented me with a bag which contained that top - adding that it needed washing!!!  She is one of the few people I know who couldn't wait to get to the airport because she couldnt wait to fly again!

She is determined to return next year - it would just be lovely if she brought her older sister Abby with her!
