Catching up with Haslams...

Today we managed to catch up with the Haslams (Kim and Steve) which is great news because it was touch and go as to whether Steve would be well enough to travel - he has recently spent 37 days in hospital and whilst he has some way to go he was deemed well enough and they have made it for what will be a three month stay.  Kim managed to find an idyllic cottage in the middle of nowhere on the edge of Polemi and it is exactly what she was hoping to find.  The owners have an eye for interior design and this is evident throughout the accommodation which was once their home - they are building a new one next door.  It is truly fabulous and by far the best holiday accommodation we have ever come across.  Kim says I am to keep it a secret in case they want to return next year - fingers crossed.

We chose to take lunch up the road at the Olive Tree.  We haven't been for years but it was the place where Dad thought they served the biggest pork chops on the island and seeing the one Kim had today I reckon Dad was right as it would have given those in Fitos a run for their money.

We spend a lovely few hours with them - and we are glad to see that the 37 days' incarceration did nothing to temper Steve's caustic wit and acerbic tongue.  We can't wait to see them on my return when hopefully the diet, rest and sunshine will have worked its magic on both Kim and Steve.

Clearly I need longer arms to take a selfie - that or use John's selfie stick!!
