Dad informs me that it isn't Bull Frogs that are making the noise but Tree Frogs! How exciting - I wonder what chance we have of ever spotting one - I have visions of those bright green big-eyed ones that you see on wildlife programmes - I have done a quick Google and apparently they are green with a black stripe - small but noisy!!
I have just spoken to John to have an update on his activities for the day. He is working so hard, bless him! Dad has been up this afternoon to help fit the gas fire. John worried Mum to death because he thought it had suffered some weather damage whilst stored at Emba. Silly Sod he was looking at the protective film which was peeling off of the surround!!!
He says that he has put up some fencing today along the footpath which leads up to the property and been out and about hacking down bushes and weeds which were obscuring our view down to the bay at Polis. I know that there is an scruffy old tree in the vineyard next door that he would really like to have down but that is going to take some negotiation with the owner and we dont know who that is yet.
Apparently John has 'pruned' the olive tree unsupervised. It doesn't really matter because it seems to grow regardless and we aren't planning to do anything with the olives (unlikely as they don't like to fruit after being lopped anyway!). The big tree has also been given a severe haircut. It was interfering with the roof and Dad is worried about how big the roots are getting. We may have to make it an 'interesting' feature if and when it dies as removing the roots will be a major exercise!
John was going to settle down with the radio and a tin of Leon this evening and one of Mum's meals on wheels. I hope the food delivery continues when we are both over there - it might turn out to be a godsend!
One quick PS - someone has asked whether John is stood on a box or I am stood in a hole in our profile pictures!!!
