Our two little lovelies (seen here battering the hell out of one another on the gym) were both due to go down to Peyia to the Vets this morning. Chivers needed to have the second part of his leukemia prevention jab and Minnie-Mou was being taken by Irene to get the first of her anti cat flu jabs under the feral programme and then she was being officially handed over to us as our own cat with her own little passport and from thereon-in her own full cost vet visits! Still, we are very grateful to Irene for using the scheme to fund their treatment so far which has meant they were given a reasonable chance in life after such poor starts with cat flu.
We are pleased to report that apart from still having ear mites (now being treated) Minnie-Mou was given a clean bill of health by Doctor Inna. We are wondering if the continuing presence of mites could be the reason why her hearing can be a bit suspect although it probably is ADHD!
Chivers was as good as gold even though he had to have his anal glands expressed (YUK YUK YUK). The glands are the reason why he 'scoots' (rubs his bum along the floor periodically) and nothing to do with worms nor is ts anything sexual (although we are going to have to make sure we get Minnie-Mou neutered as soon as possible and definitely before we get any little Chivvy-Mou kitties on the scene!!!).
It is so lovely for us to drive along the coast road in the sunshine and today with two kittens as quiet as mice having had their jabs (and who are still zonked out in their baskets even now five hours later!).
Today it was a good old naval standby snacky meal known as cheesey, hamy, eggie - which having seen it constructed is technically hamy, cheesey, eggie!!!
John toasted the sesame seeded village bread which was buttered and brown-sauced then topped with a slice of warmed lounza, that was then topped with some tasty cheddar cheese which was all then grilled whilst some of the freshest and yellowest (if there is such a word) yolked eggs were dry fried. Once the cheese was melted and bubbling the eggs were placed on the top. This was served with a cheeky little shandy made from the finest Leon beer and lemonade - DELICIOUS!!
A trip out on the bike this afternoon fir-cone hunting was successful and I have plenty of material now for crafting with Mum and Janice later this week. Kids are still asleep - BLISS!!
