We have now embarked on a busy old few weeks now that Kaye and her entourage have arrived and my aunty and uncle arrive next Wednesday for two weeks. Today we were going down to Emba and Mum and Dads for a big old barbeque with our newly extended family. I really have to thank my niece Elena for kindly bringing me over a pair of the flip flops that I admired her wearing last year at her wedding. They are really pretty - John isn't so sure about the nail polish though!
She came back soon enough complete with a bloody tick but as we had Frontlined them both this morning it wasn't a problem and we soon got rid. She then sat in front of us with her malevolent stare picking burrs out of her fur and casually spitting them across the floor. Chivers came back just as we were about to leave - this is always a bit of a relief for us - I am worried that he will get his head kicked in one of these days. I know it's daft but we like to see them before we go out anywhere and then we are always relieved when they are waiting for us when we return. In fact Chivers normally comes out to meet the car.
Back at Mum and Dad's I took some time out to sit in the evening sun and do my homework. It was the first opportunity I had got since my lesson on Monday and with several new verbs to learn and grammar I need to get my head round it before Monday comes round again and there is more stuff to learn! I am hoping I can rearrange my lesson on Monday week so that we can all go off to the Vienna Cafe for Steak and Prawns.
Mum and Dad can sure throw a good barbeque - they have it down to a fine art. Both Dad and John were cooking as we had brought down our barbeque to go with Dad's. Feeding 11 is no mean feat I can tell you!
I think the Thomas/Godfrey clan have had a good first day with a real chill-out around the pool in Kathikas today followed by the barbeque this evening. Everyone seemed to have a good time and the food went down very well. Particularly the puddings.
We spent some time this evening trying to sort out an itinerary for the next two weeks. Have you ever tried herding eels???? That would be a doddle compared to getting that lot organised!! I persevered and eventually we managed to get something down on paper so hopefully we all know what we are supposed to be doing!
Home safe and sound and with cats waiting patiently for us or rather for us to fill their food bowls another day is done.
