June 26th...

John shot off early today to help Running John with the continuing water tank issue.  I was going to craft with Vicki so was up early trying to find some bits and pieces to take with me.  I had the coasters I had made last week to grout and grouting always takes longer than you think but I needed something else for the times in between.  Pebbles and driftwood at the ready together with some tiles, water colours and glass!!!

Vicki came to have a play and a cuddle with the various kittens.  Tom and Jerry continue to grow into two beautiful cats who are great fun and who really love one another.  They are beginning to grow into their bellies!!!  They will be leaving us shortly to go to their new home in Kathikas and we will miss them - they will always have a special place in our hearts as we were so instrumental in their survival.

It was very hot in Neo Chorio so we were glad of the shade from the carport!  It was really nice to see Marmalade Annie back at the group even though she was being given a hard time for still working on the coasters she started weeks ago when she came with her friend Carole!  I grouted my tiles and then started to construct a picture with the piece of glass I had - I painted the background using water colours and then added a beach-hut, driftwood and pebbles before finishing off with a row of tiles top and bottom.  It was a happy accident and I was really rather pleased with the finished result - not sure where it will go but this one is a keeper!

When I got back home Charlie had obviously had a very busy day and was tired out and asleep on our bed.  John had put him in a rather smart black and diamante collar to get him used to wearing one as we have a magnetic flap going into the kitchen and he will need to wear a collar and magnet if he is to get in and out.  I think this is a sign that John is thinking about keeping him long term even though Minnie is still very unsettled by him.

We had asked Trev and Vix round this evening for nibbles and a game of Dominos.  John had been let loose in Paps and come back with all sorts of goodies so we were going to be offering more like Tapas than nibbles.  I text Vix to warn her so that she and Trev would come with a bit of an appetite.

When the Hazzells arrived Vicki and I went back to visit Tom and Jerry - they have been spoiled in the cuddle stakes today!! Having one another to play with they seem more than happy and we left them running around all the cardboard boxes that Irene has brought them to keep them amused.

We never got round to our game of Doms - we stayed out in the conservatory chatting and eating!  Vicki said it reminded her of the time we had just moved into the married quarters and had been to a French market in Yeovil, bought food (expensive food) and then found we had no knife to cut the bread!

It was just like old times - even though they live nearby and we see them at all sorts of functions we haven't had the opportunity to spend a lot of time just the four of us so it was good to catch up.  We took the mickey out of Trevor and his 'Hollywood' smile as his face is soooooo brown it looks like he has had his teeth whitened! Top marks to John for the goodies he bought as we all enjoyed the 'pickies'.  Plenty of time in the winter for that game of Doms!!!
