Having a juvenile cat around the house is taking its toll. Charlie seems to have ADHD or whatever the tag is nowadays for unruly behaviour. He just doesn't know when to stop and is making Minnie's life a misery and irritating the pants off of Chivers. I now march around the house armed with a water spray to try and encourage him to STOP. Just when my patience is at its end and I can't find him I wander into the bedroom to find hi flaked out in our bed looking like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth. He is a youngster we have to keep reminding ourselves and a youngster who will be off tomorrow for his inoculations. Watch out for projectile vomiting and the shits as he has suffered from car sickness on the two previous occasions he went to the vets.
I was having 'me' time today - my regular visit to the fragrant Kate Fessas for a facial - how am I going to cope until October for my next one???
Her salon is a little haven and particularly so on a day like today when it was exceptionally hot. Walking through the door the chill of the aircon was more than welcome.
I had my eyelashes tinted as an extra today - I doubt anyone will notice as I was not blessed with much in that department - in fact you struggle to see that I have any on the bottom at all.
The only trouble with having a facial is that Kate pushes my hair off of my face with an alice-band type thing and then when she removes it afterwards my hair makes me look like the wreck of the Hesperus - worse still she tells me to go make-up free for a while and having had reflexology on my feet they are always a little slippy when I put my flipflops back on so I stagger out of the salon looking like the village idiot - not a good advertisement for her I am sure! If you see me don't be put off by my appearance - her work is good - very good!!
I had arranged to meet Marmalade Annie for Coffee at the Art Cafe - coffee and a sticky was what I had in mind but when Tina read out her specials menu she had Lasagne on offer and her lasagne is fantastic. Tina suggested we shared a piece which is exactly what we did. I had seen Annie for her birthday but prior to that not for some time. She has been having a bit of a time of it recently and had hidden herself away indoors so it was good to see her out and about. Even better news is that she is coming to Meze Meze for the ladies lunch on Wednesday.
We were going out tonight to Y&P's in Latchi to a musical evening to see the 'Firebirds' which is a group which plays 50's and 60's music. The lead singer is Chris King who we have seen previously in his guise as Elvis.
We were a large and fairly raucous table which included Helen and Al, Jane and Mark and Vicki and Trevor to name a few. There was a set meal followed by the entertainment and our party got well into the swing. Kingsdon Debs had her daughter Rosie out (she has just finished university) together with Rosie's best friend Eve and they were making the most of a night out with the old fogies and really enjoying themselves. Two really nice girls who kept us well entertained! Eve just so happens to be the niece of Lord Bath!
It was quite a late night for us but an enjoyable one - I hope Charlie lets us have a reasonable night's sleep and doesn't keep biting our feet.
