NOOOOOO - my posts are out of sync!!!
We have visitors for the next couple of days. Jane and John are coming up as they usually do when they are over here. Rather more in hope than anything else we got the new garden furniture ready for coffee and at that point the sun was shining so we were hopeful that we would be able to sit outside but we were to be thwarted by heavy clouds about half an hour before the Pages arrived.
The weather this year has been exceptionally bad and we are now desperate for some settled, fine and warm days so that we can get some maintenance done and actually enjoy the garden. I text Kenna today to warn her that she will most definitely need a jumper when she comes next week but she says she is not bothered as she is just coming for a rest, a change of scenery and to catch up with John and I and to get a cuddle from the cats. She recently lost her cat and I have assured her that our lot will be desperate to get into her bedroom and make her acquaintance.
Jane and John were coming up after lunch so it gave me time to get everything ready for their stay and to get the ironing done. My ironing basket was beginning to look a bit like the Himalayas!!!

At 3A and 3B Mohammed and a team of Syrians had pitched up - this generally heralds the imminent arrival of Angela and Philip. I have to say after the pigs ear Mohammed made of the refurbishment of 3A (the renters moved out abruptly because apparently water was running down the walls) I am surprised Angela would have him anywhere near but it just proves how stupid she is. Last year Mohammed in his infinite wisdom removed the tile overhang on the roof so any rain coming off of the roof goes straight down the walls and in some cases into the walls - no wonder there was water running everywhere and as he did this to both 3A and 3B one can only wonder at the damage being suffered in both buildings. Still he comes along and tarts everything up just before Angela arrives and she is none the wiser - smoke and mirrors!!
We think the other houses owned by the bank are about to be released as the property maintenance company was here looking at the job in hand - it is a big one as the gardens are so overgrown but it will be great to have them cleared so they are neat and tidy.

I am rather pleased with the few bits I have done to upcycle the furniture and am now keen to get the panelling done then really there is nothing else to be done.
John decided that he would get the ladder in and clean the fans as they were looking very grubby. He managed the one in the guest room without problem and then did the one in our room. I could see a mark on the wall in our bedroom and when he tried to reach it to clean it the ladder slipped. Fortunately John fell on the bed and fortunately nothing got broken as the ladder fell except for the ladder as the top part got bent backwards. This now means we need to buy a new one. Next time I shall leave the fans covered in dust!
We try and take Jane and John somewhere new which is not an easy task as they have been coming for nearly 30 years so there isn't much they haven't seen but we realised that they had not been to the current Vasilikon Winery so decided to take a trip there this afternoon. Jane is still recovering from suspected food poisoning so didn't really partake in the wine tasting but she and John had a good look around the building and were very impressed. We picked up a mixed box of wines for personal consumption and then made our way back home.
We had decided to go for a meze in Finikas this evening. This was before food-poisoning-gate but Jane said she would pick at what she wanted and I contacted Andri and explained the situation and asked that only food for three be provided as we didn't want to waste anything. We were sat right next to the fire which was good as it was a chilly evening - I was in jeans and boots with a jumper and you can see that John has a fleece on. The food was lovely, as always but somehow by not being overfaced by quantities it went down even better. We had the full Phillipos experience with glyko and zivania liquers to finish off our meals before our chilly walk home.
It was good to see some other people coming in to eat - we are guessing the first couple (seemingly German) were staying at the hotel and then an English couple came in who were definitely staying at the hotel and were on a walking holiday with Wheelie Helen and Alistair.
Fingers crossed for a dry day tomorrow although the forecast is not very promising. I have planned an outside venue for lunch - we may have to have a re-think.
