Yiannis Tours...

Today John decided to rest his knee and offered to take Kenna on a Yiannis Tour around Pomos and Latchi.  Kenna had wanted to go on a boat trip but there aren't many going out at the moment and the ones that do go out at a time that if the weather changes can make it a very long and very uncomfortable experience and who wants to swim at Blue Lagoon at the moment?  Anyway they had a good trip and didn't kill one another so that was a bonus!!!

That being the case there were only four of us at pickleball but we had a great couple of hours and we actually felt quite warm in the room today - the sun was shining outside and before long we will be needing the fans and then we will be complaining it is too warm!!!  I went back to Mum's to have a chat and a cuppa.  She is trying to do a jigsaw which she is finding impossible.  I had hoped that these puzzles would be as good as the 'adult' one I had bought her for Christmas - that one had larger, thicker pieces that she found easier to pick up and place.  This one is good quality but the pieces are small and the picture is one which means that you can easily mistake the water for the mountains because the colours are the same - anyway I managed to do the bottom left corner for her and hope that helps but it probably wont because I reckon that was the easy bit!

I left Mum's and took the coast road to Coral Bay - I followed a beautiful car which was obviously going to or coming from a wedding.  When we had to stop at lights, or a crossing I could hear the dulcet tones of Bruno Mars belting out "I think I want to Marry you".

That man must have made and still be making a fortune out of that song!!!  As the car went along the driver tooted at all the passers by - the sun was shining and he was obviously in a good mood!

I don't normally go home this way but this morning John had phoned the vets about Chivers.  He had been moved from Prodromi to Polis so that he could be looked after over the weekend.  I thought I would just call in and ask if he was ok.

I had only wanted to ask if he was ok, I thought that if I saw him then both he and I would unsettled but the vet wanted me to go and see him.

Chivers has been stitched up - the vet thinks he may have impaled himself on a fence and then dragged himself free - the wound was much worse than we had appreciated and his belly was very bruised and swollen as a result.  Chivers never ever makes a scene so had John not felt where Chivers had licked the wound we might never have found it and this could have been fatal.  Initially the vet thought that there might be some foreign body inside but apparently not and even better there was no need for a drain.  Chivers will stay in the vets until Monday because there is no-one to keep an eye on him overnight at the weekend in Prodromi.  If he continues to make good progress he will be returned to Prodromi on Monday and then we can discuss how we deal with his care thereafter which hopefully will be at home - he didn't have a collar on so maybe he wont need one.  Fingers crossed the vet does not phone us over the weekend because if that happens then he will have taken a turn for the worse.  Poor poor boy.  I did have to point out to the vet that they might want to secure his cage as much as possible because he is the only cat to have escaped from it previously - although many years ago and after that Dr Inna said she wouldn't have him stay again.

We had a meal out this evening - we took Kenna to Fitos to sample some very traditional fayre and I have to thank Kenna for paying for our meal.  It was a good evening with the food up to its usual standard and today there were spare ribs on the menu which is a new addition and even better the cake at the end of the meal was that lovely orange cake that Irini had cooked in Masterchef.  Kenna was most impressed that our three meals, a bottle of wine and some soft drinks came to just over 50 euros.

We returned home to play some crib - we haven't played for months and moths - it was something we used to do regularly with Mum and Dad.
