This photograph appeared as a memory today - it is of me, Mum and my sister Kaye and was taken in Dubai when Kaye's son Matthew got married a couple of years ago although it was taken in the April I am guessing that it had taken a while before Matthew and Loren got round to posting the pictures up. It is such a nice photo because not only is it rare for the three of us to be together it is even rarer to have us dressed up with our handbags and gladrags.

...Our billy bargain is a new set of garden furniture which we got yesterday. We had said that the new patio set which is outside the kitchen door is really comfortable and made of a material which is moulded plastic so can't rust and is less likely to disintegrate than the woven plastic stuff. We had said that if we were passing Paphos Home Market we would look to see if they had anything on offer. As it happens we popped in and found a set like the one we already had but marked up at a bargain price of 149 euros for a sofa, two chairs and a table. I asked on several occasions if that price was for all the items and the girl said "yes" so we decided to go ahead and get it. To cut a long story short they had put the price of a two chair and one table set against the one we had seen but agreed to honour the price so what we got was about half the price it should have been!!!

So anyway Argy and I got down to Coral Bay and Lumi and Argy had a chat and decided what they were going to do and I sat around whilst they got on with it. Whilst I as flicking through a copy of Woman and Home my attention was caught by an item called a Wonderbag which works as a portable slow cooker with no need for electricity! Now that got me really interested because I am always trying to find ways of saving money and I currently have two slow cookers!!! It seems like a great idea but the bags themselves are pretty bulky so not likely to get one. I also found a great recipe for a Thai soup which I will be trying in the winter, in my traditional slow cooker or the pressure cooker!

On our return John had been very busy and on what seemed to be the hottest day of the year. He had put together the new patio set which is now located outside the kitchen door and the set that was there has been put up on the roof terrace - so much stronger and sturdier than what was there before which had begun to disintegrate thanks to the weather last winter. What we have now should last a good period of time as we realise that the outside dining table and chairs we bought 8 years ago is made of the same stuff and shows no signs of wear and tear.
This evening we were going out on another celebration for Di's birthday - she is becoming like the Queen!!! We were going to the Kathikas Square cafe bar or as we like to call it The Ginery! Savvas specialises in Gins and now stocks bottled real ales which the Bobster and John were keen to try. We were being joined by Clare and Les from the village and we had a lovely evening. Bobby was happy to indulge in his passion for music with Les who we are hoping might entertain us with his guitar when we go on Friday for a 'raclette' evening. Have to say a big Thank You to Savvas for the free round of drinks for Di's birthday particularly as I have discovered a Frenchie gin cocktail which is absolutely delicious!
On our return I found that the cats had left us a special present - I walked in to the bedroom and switched on the light only to be dive-bombed by a bat!!!! Poor thing got as far as the hallway between the bedrooms before John managed to catch it in a towel and release it - it flew straight away thank goodness and was quickly joined by a mate. Can't lie - it scared the shit out of me because I wasn't expecting that to come at me!!!
