Ladies Day

We are now nearing the end of the second week of JJ&S's holiday - the first week always seems to go by pretty slowly and then it gathers momentum with the last week flying by.  It is ok though because they are most definitely coming back next year.

There are certain things they did or places they visited last year that they have been keen to revisit but we endeavour to find something new.

Today I had seen advertised a 'Ladies Day' down at the Herb Garden in Pano Akourdaleia where we could book to have a little treatment or two and have afternoon tea type food and a drinkie.  This would have been no good for Mum because she has sensitive skin so treatments tend to cause irritation and she wouldn't eat the cake or drink the drink.  Had I thought on the food was not really to John's Mum's liking as she doesn't eat salad or cheese which kind of ruled out the savoury element of what the Herb Garden calls a Picnic Table.

Anyway I had booked us in for 12.00 and we picked up JJ&S and I dropped John and Stan in Kathikas so that they could have some man time, drink a pint or two and watch the rugby whilst we were at the Ladies Day.

We arrived at the Herb Garden and had a little wander round and all decided upon a treatment each which we booked in to have after we had eaten - getting there first meant we had the pick of the timings which was good.

Janet and Jacky started the proceedings with a Bellini cocktail which is a mixture of Prosecco and Peach Puree or Peach Schnapps and I had a good old cup of tea.  On our Picnic Table on the bottom we had ham and cream cheese finger sandwiches, chicken and salad wraps and ratatouille and feta mini quiches and on the top there were cinnamon swirls, chocolate fudge cake and scones with jam and clotted cream.  I thought it was all very nice but then there was nothing on there that I wouldn't eat!!

I had opted for an Indian Head Massage with oils even though I had washed my hair that morning but hey ho it could always be washed again.  I was surprised to see that the lady offering the treatment was Carol from the village who runs the postal exchange.  I have known her for some time but never realised that she was a therapist.  I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the head massage and my hair didn't look to awful afterwards.  Carol offers a host of treatments from her home in Akourdaleia at a very reasonable price and I just might be tempted to go again.

Jacky, who like me doesn't normally like anyone touching her feet, opted for some reflexology and Janet opted for more of a body massage.  Jacky has now become a reflexology convert and Janet enjoyed her massage although the masseur sort of wandered off after he had finished leaving her sitting on the chair not knowing if she should move!!

All in all I think it was a successful couple of hours and it gave the menfolk time to themselves.  We returned via Kathikas to collect them and then dropped them back at Polis.  They were having an evening to themselves and John wanted to get home to watch the Mighty Blades in a rather boring 0-0 draw against Watford.  As I pointed out to him it wasn't a loss and for that he should be grateful!!

We had some issues with the TV Box which took a while to resolve - it was all to do with the video player we use but once we had it sussed we were able to watch the second episode of Chernobyl - before we got the player sorted we had sound but no picture except we didn't realise that we just thought that this episode was subsequent to the explosion and so everything was black!
