What a pain...

Unfortunately today my neuralgia is somewhat worse so when we go into town to meet Hazel's sister, twin sister, Heather I am galling into a chemist to get some Nurofen which hopefully will do the trick.  For the last couple of days it has been very grey and overcast and chilly but without the frosts and freezing fog so I am hooping that when I drive to the airport on Saturday morning the conditions well be good as I have to find my way and I have to find a petrol station to make sure the hire car is full otherwise they will charge me a fortune and I have to find the Silver Zone which is where the hire cars now have to be dropped off and then I have to lug my heavy old cases to departures.  Normally when I am away I hand-write my thoughts for the blog in a notebook but then I thought you must be able to get an app that would change my spoken words into text and YOU CAN!!!  So now I am using it with some degree of success although it isn't one hundred percent accurate and some of the things it comes up with can be quite funny but it will save me having to type up my scribbled notes on my return to Cyprus.  The only trouble is if I stand any change of making it work satisfactorily then I have to speak like a robot and I am worried that if I do this for any length of time that is the way I will end up speaking for good!!!

There was been a great joy in catching up with old friends.  This morning Haze and I took a walk over to see Mark Rowe (the artist of the picture above).  Mark is a friend from way back who I haven't seen for about 30 years.  He, Haze and I would grace the terraces of the old Yeovil Town ground (famous for its sloping pitch and giant killing ways).  We would go to any home game whether it was first team or reserves.  Mark has been very poorly so we hope we cheered him up for an hour or so this morning.

This afternoon I was invited to join friends Helen and Pete for lunch at a new venue for me - The Trough in Stone Lane in Yeovil.  I really must thank them for introducing me to somewhere new and somewhere which was so unexpectedly splendid, refined and sumptuous.   This was about as far removed as it could be from the grotty run-down ailing down centre.  I had a lovely lunch and couple of hours with them catching up.

Many many years ago Helen and Pete were our next door neighbours in Glenthorne Avenue and had come and stayed at our villa before we had done anything to it.  In fact Helen and I have known each other since we were 16 and were Saturday girls together in Boots in Yeovil!!

My day was rounded off with leftover curry from last night which was equally as nice the second time around, then we watched Yesterday which I really really enjoyed and celebrated a Tottenham win and a Man U loss!
