I have to say a very big thank-you to Liselotte for allowing me to tag some items onto her order from Ikea - they arrived today and will enable me to finish two or three projects. I am liking this facility of ordering online and getting things delivered - it saves having to mingle with the great unwashed and adds a certain frisson to the day!!!In my order were four pair of net curtains which are going to replace the curtains currently hanging at the gazebo where the day bed resides - at 4.99 a pair there were a billy bargain. I have also got the table I wanted for by the day bed which is rather swish as the top is a tray which sits on the frame.
I also have some new artificial flowers for the vase that sits on the table outside the kitchen and some lovely tins which will house my secateurs and small garden tools and adorn my potting bench when it is finished.
To make up the order I added a couple of packets of tea lights as John and I often have the candles lit at night rather than the electric lights. All in all I am very happy although I think I will wait until this current windy weather dies down before tackling the curtains!!!
I am still working on ideas for my entries into the weekly art challenge - this week the theme is Breakfast and I am playing around with a good old fashioned pencil for a change. John is going to do some photographs this week. There are fewer entries in this week than there were on previous weeks by Wednesday so I guess with the lockdown lessening around the world people do not need the distraction quite as much as they did previously.

We worked bloomin' hard today - John decided to take out the old patio doors between the woodstore and the shed because over time and with the windy weather they have shifted so would no longer close and allow us to lock them. They are old and wibbly wobbly but do serve a purpose and will last a while longer yet.
Whilst he was doing that I was tasked with waterproofing and painting the new area he has built which is to be my potting bench. We are awaiting Costas the aluminium man to measure up and cost doors for the woodstore and the potting shed and then when we do eventually venture down to Paphos we need to order the marble for the top and it will all be finished. I am so excited!!
We were knackered by the time we had finished so our reward was a swift half before showering and having our supper which was a real make do and mend because I had planned a pasta surprise but it was too late to start that when we had finished.
What the Ration book has to say...
Potatoes were plentiful and were given a cartoon character to promote them. Potato Pete, a cheery chappy in knee-length boots with a tiny hat perched on his head, had his own recipe book with included such delightful offerings as potato bread, potatoes on toast, champ, potato drop scones and potato sandwich spread!
