We were so pleased with the first lot of windows we had covered that we decided to splash out and get the other side of the conservatory done along with the guest bedroom window and the kitchen window.
For the bedroom and kitchen we really wanted the film to provide privacy - guests will be able to stay and have the shutters open and do whatever it is they want to do in the bedroom without being seen from the garden although at night with the lights on in the bedroom they may be more visible. From the kitchen we can see the window at the top of W&W's stairs and they open and shut the shutters on a daily basis so we reckon if we can see them then they can see us.
In the conservatory the film should protect the furniture from being bleached by the sun, make it cooler in Summer and warmer in Winter and provide privacy and, to be honest, we just like the way they look after the film has been applied.
Poor Ian had an audience this morning as Nicky has purchased a kit from tintyweb and wants to do something to their windows albeit temporarily as the plan is that the windows and doors will be changed in due course. Ian was more than happy to be watched and to answer Nicky's questions bless him! She went away with a much better idea if how to get a better finish with the materials she has.
It was sweltering in the conservatory and Ian was with us for nearly four hours bless him - I said I guessed working in these conditions meant he didn't have to worry about his weight!!! He will have an equally hot job on tomorrow when he goes to Mum and does the windows and doors of her sunroom.

This evening we had been invited to go down to the Bobster and Di's for some drinkies and nibbles. It was a glorious evening and Rob very kindly came and picked us up so we only had to negotiate the homeward journey and the infamous Cardiac Hill. John was super excited to reveal to Bobby his latest find (or rather mine) in terms of a regular supply for some real ales. I had stumbled across a web site called eDrinks which is based in Nicosia and which would deliver via Akis. They had several of the boys' favourites on offer and we had placed an order to try them out which should come in the next couple of days.
This year, unusually, the evenings in Droushia have been warm and dry - normally we have a lot more condensation which makes it difficult to sit out late but does cut down on watering! Last night it was warm, dry and beautiful and we sat out for several hours catching up. We are lucky to live where we do and we are lucky that under the current circumstances we feel safe and secure.
Thank you Di and Bobby it was a lovely evening - our turn next xxx
