John was staying at home because Costas the Aluminium Man was coming today to fit a fly screen to the front door. Because of the guttering we had been limited as to what was possible but he did good and constructed a frame on the outside of the door which houses a fly screen which you can pull up and down like a roller blind. This has now got us thinking about having another one put on the sliding door by the pool.
Costas has to come back to do some extra siliconing so we will discuss it with him when he does. Our one concern is that the cats may not realise when the screen is down and try and run straight through with disastrous and expensive consequences!!
Anyway I did a few bits of shopping before arriving at Mum's. News of the Covid situation in the UK is not good and from Monday people are being limited to meeting up in groups of no more than 6 people. I said to Mum that I thought it very unlikely that my sister Kaye would be able to make it and actually if she were to ask me I would probably say to try and delay it until sometime next year and then my sister video called to say that she would be postponing. As she flies on a Wednesday she would have to have her test over a weekend and at the moment there is no-where particularly near that can guarantee to get the results back in time. Mum fully understood and hopefully come next year things will be under better control and travel easier to undertake.

I chose a lovely bougainvillea in a very unusual shade of ivory with pink edges. The garden centre said it would be more than happy grown in a pot and so I also bought a terracotta pot and saucer for Klaus to transplant it and thought it would look so much better than the plastic one. They are so happy in their new home and together are embarking on new craft projects to add colour and a touch of humour to their rather large garden area.

John and I had had an interesting time walking down through because we got to just outside Georgia's house and realised that it was wall to wall wet cement with a tiny little bit of wood for pedestrians to try and get through but it was neither stable nor long enough so there was evidence that someone had got so far and then plummeted into the wet cement and, according to the man opposite, left his shoes in the cement!!!
John managed to get me onto the terrace at the front of Georgia house and then down into the village without too much difficulty but there was no way we could do the return journey that way so we took the long and circuitous route via Alkisti's sisters house and at least that way we got minimal crap on our shoes!!
