In a World where you can be anything - Be Kind

Is it me or has this whole corona-virus thing brought out the best in some people and the absolute worst in others?

Reading the news and social media it would appear that the different ways people approach their 'new normal' either by complying with the various rules and regulations or indeed choosing to flout them, pitches neighbour against neighbour, friends against friends and families against families.  People ask perfectly reasonable questions asking for clarification on what is and what is not permitted and they are met with a barage of abuse and vitriol the like of which I have never witnessed before.

Until recently we have been woken in the mornings by Radio 5 Live and the news from the UK seems to be so very depressing that we are going to give it a miss from now on.  As I said before in the blog, we liked lockdown when we didn't have to worry what was happening outside the gate and what other people were doing, we just did what we thought was right and kept ourselves to ourselves and it was so much less stressful.

Anyway all that niff, naff and trivia going on around us paled into insignificance when I phoned my lovely friend Hazel who is coping with the sudden and unexpected loss of her daughter-in-law Abi's very, very best friend Lugano at the tender age of 28.  Life can be so unfair at times and our hearts and thoughts go out to Abi, Jordan and Hazel and Lugano's family and friends.

We have always tried to live by this mantra and we would like to think it would be adopted by everyone else mantra from now on - not just when (or if) you grow up - let's all be kind as we never know what battles other people are facing.
