Masks...

We are forecast to have a week of wet weather which is a bit of a bugger as we are part way through getting things sorted so that the house is ready for the winter.

This week's challenge for artists and photographers is 'Masks' which I thought was apt and nobody could moan that they didn't have access to the subject matter but I hope that people will think outside the box!!

I had hoped to get a couple of hours this afternoon doing some painting but our day turned out to be rather disjointed so nothing quite went to plan.

We managed to squeeze in a quick coffee with Lakis and Argy this morning.  They had the electrician coming this morning to sort out the upstairs fan switch which had disintegrated in Argy's hands and then she was hoping that the glass door man (who did the doors in the Finikas Restaurant in Polis) would come to have a look as to whether or not it was possible to glass in the space between their two buildings.  I know she is super-hopeful about this being a possibility but as we keep telling her - anything is possible at a price - but they need to decide what price is reasonable.  Ours was a much more simple join as we didn't have the buggerance factor of a second floor and a balcony and different roof levels.  Anyway we will know in due course!

We had decided to go down to the bigger Philippos supermarket in Coral Bay to do our shopping today because I haven't been able to get the Lanitis fresh cream in Paps recently and this is something I really cannot do without.  I rather wish we hadn't needed to because I really do not like that shop.

We called in to check on Les this morning and to see if he needed any shopping.  We are trying to get him to organise some ready meals from the company that mum uses - Easy Meals but the whole exercise was fraught with disaster as the email he received on his phone was so small as to be unreadable and then we had to try and get his printer working so we could print it out in a format he could read.  Then we realised they couldn't deliver to Droushia although he thought they could so after about an hour I lost the will to live but wanted to get it sorted because it would be an ideal solution to Les getting proper food and not pastry crap from the local supermarket and I wouldn't feel I needed to supply him with meals.

Anyway the road up to his house is now nigh on completed, if not a bit messy due to a tractor or something coming through with dirty tyres!

He had a couple of things he wanted us to get him from Philippos so we said that we would.

I am not being funny but Philippos is full of numpties - just about every bloke was walking round with their mask under their nose or worse under their chin and Brits seemed to be the biggest culprits.  Then  driver in the zooped up dickhead car in the car-park next to us was standing swigging a bottle of beer and no mask at lunch time and refused to put his mask on and was downright rude when we challenged him - so no mask and pissed - that's clever.

I am happy to forego the cream so as not to ever have to go down to that supermarket ever again - give me Paps in Polis any day.

There was a big Government meeting tonight - an announcement is being made mid-week as to what further restrictions are going to be imposed - we are tipping a short lockdown and are ready for it if it happens.

My night was made complete when I opened the door to let Charlie in and a bloody bird came in instead.  I can cope with most things, spiders, scorpions or snakes but a bloody flappy bird is a step too far.
