They search them here - they search them there...

The weather bucked its ideas up today and so I had a lovely drive down to Emba to see Mum - I stopped off on the way down to stock up on veggies and was in search of the Holy Grail - Parsnips!!!  Tsada had none 😒  John was an a similar mission down in Polis and he couldn't find any either.  Mum and I went on a little mooch around Alpha Mega together - last week we had been able to have a cuppa there but this is now banned.  I don't shop regularly here so get frustrated by the fact that I can't find anything and one thing I couldn't find were parsnips and that was because they didn't have any.

Mum and I returned to Emba to have a spot of lunch together sat in her sunroom which was glorious with the sun streaming in which was a welcome change from the driving rain over the last two days.  No jigsaw to complete this week though!

I made my way back home and decided to pop into the old Philippos Supermarket in Peyia which I loathe as it is so dark and dismal.  Initially I wasn't going to bother but then I could see that there was a parking space nearby so nipped in and found some corking 'snips but they came at a price - four parsnips cost half the amount I had shelled out in Tsada for a green cabbage, red cabbage, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, cucumbers, sweet potatoes, carrots and potatoes!!

Once home John and I took advantage of the dry sunny afternoon to go out and recce a walk which might be suitable for tomorrow.  Mindful of the disastrous outing yesterday I suggested looking at the Kathikas walk we girlies do but adding on some loops to make it longer and more strenuous.  We managed to do exactly that and the first loop took us on a path where the view was absolutely breathtaking.   The walk will be nearly 11Km and two very steep ascents but I know that they will be absolutely worth it.

This evening it was lovely to meet up with Di and Rob and have a take-away from Fitos.   The food and company were fabulous and we packed in a lot of conversation before the Veaseys had to head home before curfew.  We have organised our traditional Christmas get together here next Tuesday and I am hoping (against hope) that the post does not let me down.  Rob's gift is still in transit and I have had to find an alternative which I hope will become redundant.
