Keen to take advantage of the beautiful weather this morning (which was set to change this afternoon and did) Nicky and I used one of our text requests to go for a walk. Exercise is allowed and we can walk in pairs and if you stay within 500 yards of your house you don't need permission but we were going on a circular route doing around 8km so we asked for permission and got it.
It was really hard to think that this glorious spell of weather was about to come to an end as it was really warm as we made our way down through Inea and then up the hill towards the radar then out towards Pittokopos and back cross country into Droushia. We didn't meet anyone else exercising but there seemed to be a lot of activity around the bandstand - not sure if it was people working in the fields.
When you are able to get out into the fresh air and take in your surroundings it is really hard to think about the chaos that is going on all around us with Covid - there are times when you wonder whether life as you knew it will ever be quite the same again. We have missed seeing family and friends over the last 12 months and it looks like it is going to be quite some time before we get any visitors here as flights are being cancelled all the time.
We came back through the village and called in to check the post and I had a couple of things there for me which I had been waiting for which was good and then we wandered back home. I had planned to spend the morning going through paperwork but got a phonecall from Les because he was feeling unwell - this ended up with me having to take him to the doctor and then to Polis A&E and from there he was taken to Paphos General for observations and kept in overnight.
