It is Tuesday, walking day - weather permitting and today we couldn't have had a better day for it - it was absolutely stunning. I had plotted a walk which started at our house because I was sure that there must be loads of routes nearby that we hadn't explored. Narky Nora (the voice behind Kamoot) assured me that there wasn't a huge amount of descent and ascent but we know, from past experience, that she lies!
We walked out of the village and down through Inea and across towards the base of the Radar and headed off towards the coast taking a similar route we had taken previously when we walked down to Lara only when we got to the junction where we would take a right and walk past the little church we took the road which went straight on.
We had not gone very far before we got our first WOW - the view down to Lara was exceptional and we were walking on a rough-ish track with little possibility of encountering any traffic. The spring flowers were all around us and at one point we came across some wild asparagus - not easy to spot but we did and Nicky took it home with her to have for breakfast - she is now a fully qualified Forager!!
At one point, towards the lowest point of our walk, we had to cross a stream - it was such a pretty spot somewhere we could stop and have a picnic in the future if we were not limited to the amount of time we are allowed out with our text request. In the distance we could see goats and sheep running out from a large farm situated in the middle of nowhere.
We had a longish ascent but it wasn't directly up, rather up, along then up again but we eventually reached some civilization in the shape of the village Vrisi in Inea - Vrisi is a local spring and all of the villages seem to have these areas - in the past they were used for all sorts of ablutions!
Our walk took us back to the centre of Inea via a really old cobbled road which rose up in steps - beautiful but quite hard going at the end of our 10Km but I had absolutely no idea that it was there and it is just at the back of the amphitheatre.
