Today did not pan out as expected - John had organised to take Les into the village for a kebab as soon as Finikas was open and the weather was good enough and that was to be today but sadly Les rang this morning to say he was feeling odd and even though we tried to ascertain how odd and tried to ascertain whether it was just a panic attack or dehydration ultimately we are not medical and so Les took himself off to hospital only to be told that actually there was nothing they could do for him as he had to see a neurologist and he already has an appointment for that. I think he is a bit stressed because Clare is coming back apparently. I have to say we were a little annoyed that we had arranged for Richard to clean their windows and then had to cancel because (a) Les was off to hospital and (b) Clare thought they could clean them themselves. Good luck with that after the Saharan sand storm we have just had!!

So John called in his two wing men to have lunch with him at Finikas, the Bobster and Mark who I think enjoyed their little man-time together. I had made no plans for today save for a trip out to the garden centre at Agia Marina. I didn't really want anything but it is such a lovely place and Marina and Marinos are such a lovely couple they deserve to do well.
I was just getting myself organised when I realised that Nicky had text me to ask what my plans were for the day - about three hours earlier!!! I said that I wanted to do to the garden centre and she would be welcome to join me even though I know they are in no position yet to sort their garden. I thought it might be somewhere that Nicky's Mum might like to go.
So we dropped John and Mark off and passed the Bobster on his way up to Finikas and went on our Thelma and Louise road trip to the outer reaches of Agia Marina. The flowers there lift your spirits - there is so much colour - rows upon rows of flowers which bring a smile to your face. I did buy - how can you not? I bought some fabulous bright yellow ranuncula which were just passed their best so reduced and will come back next year!! Add to that a few gazania which I know do really well in the garden and a lemon thyme for my herbs.
I decided to take Nicky to Coast on our way home - I knew this would be somewhere new for her and we had a cup of tea and a cake each and thoroughly enjoyed it - another spot for Nicky to take her mum and for Nicky an exercise in getting used to a new area. I asked her if she and Mark had been to the Art Cafe in Polis and she didn't think so so we swung by there on our way home so she could see where it was.
We were not out as long as the boys so on our return I went over to Nicky's so we could have a bit of art time together. This week's challenge is Easter and I had decided to paint a Pasque Flower which is the flower for Easter.
We had barely started, I had not even taken one sip of my wine when the boys returned!!!
That was fine - they had had a nice day and we had had a nice day so all was good. Maybe it is age, maybe it is the covid restrictions but we have come to appreciate the simpler things in life and that cannot be a bad thing.
We returned home mid afternoon and did very little thereafter. Neither of us wanted anything for tea so we cracked open the nibbles and a bottle of wine and watched some TV which didn't need any concentration.
Tomorrow I am walking with John - I have plotted a route which is down between Prodromi and Chrysochous - the weather is set to be good and this evening we received our electricity bill for the last two months - 25 euros - how good is that???
