Friday 13th

It is Friday and a very very different day from yesterday which was rather stormy.  We were up early - we had slept in the spare bedroom last night as we are trying to break the cycle with the cats waking me up throughout the night.  To be fair I actually got a reasonable night - it is much darker in that room but it comes with its own new set of noises and as it was very windy during the night the one which I heard the most was that of the wind chimes (funnily enough!) and the watering can being blown across the paving slabs!

I wanted to tidy up the potting bench this morning whilst John went to Les's as he had phoned to say he was unwell and having a funny turn - as it happens John had to phone for an ambulance and get him in it and off to the hospital.  He had a load of tests and thankfully they couldn't find anything untoward.

I was trying to decide what to do with the 'shutters' I had bought - many years ago Laura and Mark brought me a beautiful trowel and fork set - sadly the sun has ravaged the decoration but they are still quite sweet.  John quite likes what I have done but the jury is still out.

I am still trying to decide about my herb garden - I have got the herbs, I have got the container and I have got the compost but I don't have the location and John wants me to be sure because he doesn't want to have to be moving it once it has been filled and I can't blame him.  It needs to be somewhere near the kitchen door as I want to use the herbs and it needs to get some sunshine - how difficult can that be?  Well quite difficult in our garden which is now quite crowded with 'stuff'!

The remainder of the day was pretty quiet save for a quick trip to Paps to get our shopping - we were hoping to hear some good news regarding the relaxation of restrictions but as I was rummaging through the carrots I got a text from Rachel informing us that the announcement had been made and it wasn't the good news we had hoped for but having looked at the figures with regard to infections it wasn't altogether surprising.

The curfew has been extended to 11pm but we still only have two texts to go out available to us and then for a reasonable amount of time which is deemed to be three hours and we have no problem with that.  Restaurants can open but only outside space - well great but up here at night it is still cold and in the shade can be cold - certainly too cold to sit outside and consume a meal which will arrive lukewarm after being brought to the table because that is what is going to happen BUT apparently Covid19 is going to go away on Monday which is Clean/Green Monday and parks and picnic areas are going to be open to accommodate those wishing to celebrate - REALLY???

Hey Ho we shall just continue to keep ourselves safe which isn't really too hard for us but not ideal for others.
