It is Good Friday in the UK which has buggered up my thinking and our viewing!!! There was footie on mid-afternoon! Our sun has gone on its holidays and it is stormy with some brief bright spells. We had nothing planned fortunately so we spent the day indoors.
On one of my very brief forays into the garden (between showers) I went to see the progress that my magnolia has been making and I think it is fair to say it is slow but despite the inclement weather and the heavy hail it is now in a position where it is protected and so the flower is bravely opening up - I am excited!
Last night Di and Bobby came armed with a plant. It is a very pretty Million Bells petunia and it looks like there might just be two in the pot as some of the flowers are purple and white and others just purple. It is a bit too wild to have it outside at the moment so I have put it in a nice basket and it will live in the conservatory for a while.
We spent most of the day in the conservatory as it was warmer than inside the house and by mid afternoon when we had had a few sunny interludes the temperature was in the mid 20s which is very pleasant.
I spoke to Mum a couple of times today. It would have been her and Dad's 66th wedding anniversary today. She was supposed to be going over to Lilian's for a cuppa this afternoon but the weather wasn't good enough and it was probably sensible that she stay in where it is warm rather than venture out in the wind and rain. She and Lilian are supposed to be going out for Lunch tomorrow at Haris's Bar in Peyia if the weather is ok - as you are basically eating outdoors it needs to be dry at the very least and of course Mum feels the cold so much. This will be the first time in months and months that she will have been out to eat if it happens and I am not sure how she is going to feel about that - ok if people are abiding by the rules I guess but not everyone does. I shall wait to hear. We had hoped to go to the Farmyard for Sunday lunch this week but it will just be too chilly for us to sit and enjoy so we have postponed that until the weather improves.
With nothing much we could do in and around the house I spent a bit of time creating a picture for this week's challenge which is EASTER - I have a feeling there will be quite a few entries which feature Chicks or Rabbits this week!!!
We had food left over from last night for our supper and I have to wait for the meat we took out of the freezer for Sunday to defrost so I didn't even have any cooking to do!!! Really nothing else to report on today - a short and boring post sorry!
