A quiet day

I have no idea what I did whilst walking with Liselotte yesterday but today my legs feel like dead weights and my thigh muscles are aching so I was not unhappy to be having a quite day today.

We went down to check the post today and couldn't quite make out the vehicle that was following us.  When we stopped we cuold see it was a little Toyota with a bloody great plastic hamburger stuck on the top!!!

It transpired that this was the delivery service of the Fly Again in Argaka.  Businesses have to be pretty adaptable nowadays and 'think outside the box' if they are to secure whatever business there is out there at the moment so 'Hats Off ' to the Fly for coming up with a somewhat unique delivery vehicle - once seen never forgotten and I am guessing that was exactly what they were hoping for!!

Anyway no post for us so we carried on down to the cemetery to check it out.  Good job we did as Pantelis had obviously been strimming down the weeds.  This is admirable but he does just that - strim - he does not clean up afterwards so we got the house out and gave the row where Dad's grave is located a good old Cypriot sloosh down and got rid of all the debris so that it would look clean and tidy-ish for Mum when she will visit on Sunday.

We had no shopping to do and had nothing much planned by way of food today so decided to go down to Yiallos for some lunch.  All the eating establishments seem to have taken the opportunity for some refurbishments during lockdown and Nakis now has a newly paved area closest to the sea, most of which is shaded by sails.  Here the tables are well spread out and there is still ample room to get past and as it has been paved properly everythign is stable!!!  This is a beautiful spot and has changed hugely since we first found it when there were about half a dozen picnic tables and a shack for cooking.  The changes have been well thought out and tastefully done so although this is now quite a large and modern establishment it still retains its old traditional family feel.

Once home we waited for the sun to go over the yard-arm before (a) having a little drinkie and (b) doing the watering.  I don't water anything which is planted in the ground only those which are in pots - although to be fair I do have quite a lot of these.  The conditions this year must be great for Clematis - I have never seen mine grow so well or be so floriferous!!  I love it - I just wish I could find another which is a different colour!!

We always have plenty of lavender here which is good because I have googled a homeopathic remedy for Charlie who has been pulling some of his fur out.  We have checked and double checked him and can see nothing specific causing it save perhaps for ticks which he seems to attract - often the fur pulling is a symptom of a flea infestation but he has been treated and we have super combed him and found no evidence at all.  Anyway it says an infusion of lavender is great for bathing the area and soothing any irritation.  I am hoping that as Lavender helps you sleep it might encourage Charlie not to keep getting up at all hours - we shall see.

The weather turned quite strange this evening - it became extremely windy and muggy.  Mum's neighbour Effie did say to me the weather was going to change today but the forecast doesn't show much by way of cooling down.  Boris didn't like the wind so sought refuge in one of my baskets which he can just about fit in.

John and I settled down to watch QUIZ - about the Who Wants to be a Millionaire rigging scandal - we had not seen it when it was first broadcast.  There are only three episodes but we only managed one and a half before retiring to bed!!
