Hello Family After 2 Years!

John's Mum, Jackie and Stan arrive tomorrow so this morning we were up and out and doing their shopping and taking towels and books and all sorts of other bits and pieces to their accommodation in Polis.  It looks like this might be the last time they will be able to stay there as it looks like it is up for sale which is a shame.  Everything looked to be in order and we left the fridge filled so that they will have some food and plenty of drink available to them when they first arrive.  They are no strangers to Polis so once they have got themselves sorted they will be off to the supermarket to stock up.    John had hoped to get his hair cut but there was a massive queue outside the barbers so he left it - as he said he will be up and down to Polis regularly over the next three weeks so will catch a spot at some point for sure.

Our reward for a hectic morning was to have lunch out and we were meeting Lakis and Argy at Yiallos for an early lunch.  The grounds at Yiallos have been beautifully developed over the years since it was no more than half a dozen picnic tables under a dodgy old pergola and their recent addition is the 'private' dining space which is located on its own away from all the other punters.  It is lovely and John and I plan to book it to take our visitors because it really is a lovely spot and they will be impressed for sure.

It was a beautiful day although quite windy on the coast.  We are due to have the temperatures ramp up towards the end of the week - it really has been a long hot summer this year but rumour has it that it will be followed by a hard cold winter so John is now preparing for that by getting the wood store sorted and organising for some wood to be delivered to see us through.

It was a lovely lunch and so relaxing just sat watching the world go by and in my opinion it is still one of the best places to get a Chicken Caesar Salad which was my choice today.

We returned home for a quiet afternoon.  I was spuddling around in the garden doing a bit of tidying and cutting back in readiness for visitors and I was accompanied by Charlie who found a shady spot near the shower to collapse and sleep.

John watched the Mighty Blades who managed a win again today with a much better performance apparently - they are now no longer bottom but luxuriating in mid-table obscurity!
