This morning we were treated to our first Autumnal rolling mist so the light was quite eerie but it did mean that once the sun burned off the mist it was going to be a lovely day. How fantastic for the beginning of November - this time last year it was peeing down with rain!!! I know this because my lovely school friend Sheri sent me a message reminding me that we had gone to Tala Monastery Cats to see her adopted puss Ishtar and we were swathed in waterproofs!!! Ishtar has subsequently been rehomed and so at some point she is returning to adopt a newbie.
Nicky and I were walking this morning - I am so glad that we made the effort because it was absolutely glorious. We did the walk we had done last week but in reverse and actually we both agreed it was a better way to do it. The views were better and the elevations don't seem quite so taxing. I am glad that I am able to continue walking - even though I need to be a bit mindful of my heart at the moment.
When we did this walk with Malcolm and Louise we could hear cows but couldn't see them - today we could see them and one was bathing in the early morning sun. People say they rarely see cows in Cyprus but there are usually some to be found in Droushia somewhere or other.
We were super thrilled to encounter a family of pigs who seemed to have escaped from somewhere and were having a whale of a time and kicking up their heels enjoying their freedom. The Mummy pigs were tiny compared to the big old black pigs we have encountered previously.
What a lovely way to start the day. I spent the remainder gardening - tackling the original clock vine so that it has been reduced by three quarters. May this good weather continue!!
