Currently I seem to be unable to get a good night's sleep - I might start off ok but then I will wake in the early hours and not go back to sleep.  My medication seems to have stopped working at that point so I spend the time feeling like I have sea-sickness.  I am knackered and feeling less than 100 percent so have decided to go see the Doctor tomorrow.

I had got our meal for today ready yesterday and John had made a cake and Mum had chosen to have sausage and mash so that is what we were having on what turned out to be the hottest day of the year so far.  I cannot believe the turn around this week but so glad that the sun has finally put in an appearance now that George and Pam and Malc, Louise and Alysia are all here and they have admitted that they have appreciated the need for duvets even now.

Mum had brought me a lovely present for Easter and as a thank you for everything which we do for her.  Now I understand why John was looking at these statues when we were down in Paphos earlier in the week.  I have an 'oriental' area in garden in front of the kitchen window and I planned to give it a tidy this week so this will go and keep the buddha which Hazel gave me for my birthday company.

It would appear that we are going to go straight into summer this year so the garden is going to need a bit of extra management.  I think I will have to start watering the pots regularly from now on - even those which are currently housing interesting 'sticks' because the harsh winter means they have lost all their leaves.

Mum thinks she is getting near the point where she needs her other cataract sorted so we had a discussion about it today and we have suggested that she should go and get her eyes tested first in case she simply needs to have the prescription in her glasses changed - because of covid she can't remember exactly when she last went.  She has also had a problem with her current prescription so she is going to go to the Doctors tomorrow to get that sorted too.  Looks like it is going to be the day for going to the Doctors!!

To give you an idea of how hot it was today when we went back into the conservatory after lunch, with all the windows and doors open, it was 32 degrees with very low humidity.  I felt completely overdressed and I was in shorts and a sleeveless top!

After Mum had gone home we had a brief catch up with Nicky and Mark to see how their week had been.  It is funny that even though they are our neighbours generally we see very little of them through the week.  By the time they came round the temperature in the conservatory was much more pleasant.  Mr Boo came and made himself comfy on John - he is getting more and more chubby like Charlie!

It wasn't a late night - after my poor night's sleep I was quite happy to turn in early.
