Poorly Household...

Today was not a good day

We had to take Minnie to the vets.  She had been fine and then suddenly started eating loads and then a few days ago she came for food but wouldn't eat hardly anything and was crying and started to look a bit scruffy.  We had said that if she hadn't perked up this morning we would take her.  She was no better and we were worried.

I went to get dressed but had a severe dizzy spell out of the blue and I mean really dizzy so I had to go back to bed and John had to take her on his own.

She is poorly, initially the vet thought it was a sign of kidney disease but blood tests show pancreatitis and liver inflammation.  What we don't know as yet is whether or not this is old age, the result of some trauma or worse that she has ingested something toxic which might be the case as bloody Mohammed was using weed killer in the green area the other day on the orders of the bloody woman in 3b.  Surely we cannot lose another of our lovely cats to poison?

I did not feel able to do to much this morning - I did manage to get up before John returned from the vets but every time I moved it was like I was on the sea - my blood pressure and heart rate were fine and I didn't feel ill just unsteady so I spent most of the day sitting on the sofa.

I had emailed the insurance company to check to see whether we might be covered for damage after the mini-tornado.  I was sure that we wouldn't because I think this is deemed an act of God and I was correct although they did come back to me and asked for pictures and an idea of the costs of the damage and they would see what they could do.

John went round totting up the costs of 3 minutes of madness.  We had two brollies destroyed along with one of the concrete stands, a new Keter storage box had been smashed along with a chair from the new three piece set which we purchased last year.  My two big terracotta pots, which had been weighted down, had been smashed and our outside clock which had been fished out of the pool was refusing to function.  Numerous glasses and pots and ornaments were smashed to smithereens but were inconsequential  We looked up on-line the cost of replacing the items which will have to be replaced and it came to just short of €1,000 bloody hell it never rains but it pours.

On top of this Mum rang to say she had fallen asleep again and missed her Easy Meals delivery which was really worrying, in fact several aspects of her behaviour over the last couple of days had bothered us, she had seemed unsteady on her feet and rather confused at times so we had a chat and she said she had recently been given some different medication for sleeping and when we looked at the side effects these were all listed.  She said she had no warning about dropping off to sleep nor had recognised that she was a bit confused but did admit that she felt unsteady on her feet.  We have agreed that I will go with her to the doctors to have a chat about the medication.

I hadn't really thought about what we would eat this evening what with the cat and mum preying on my mind but John had and bless him he made sure we had everything we needed to have a brie and bacon salad.  By the time it came to eat it I felt a bit more normal and was grateful to have something nice to eat.

He settled down to watch Sunderland in their second leg match against Sheffield Tuesday which would secure them a place in the play off finals - they managed a draw which added to their win previously meant that Tuesday were confined to another season in League One.
