Blimey this fourth vaccination has really knocked me sideways. I feel tired and today have had a thumping headache which no amount of tablets would shift. I was glad that we had nothing planned and that I wasn't getting food ready for tomorrow. Mum is coming on Monday instead as we have been invited to Sonia's on Sunday.
John and I were both up at 5.30am - the cats have no regard for time or illness - both Charlie and Minnie were hungry - Boris was doing his usual turn around the estate and he rarely if ever comes to demand to be fed - probably because we keep a bowl of biscuits down for him to graze on. The advantage of being up at this time is that you get to see the amazing sunrise over the coast and you can also go back to bed and grab a few precious hours and still be up at a reasonable time. Those precious hours today were the best hours I had for sleep all night!

Costas the Aluminium Man was coming this morning to replace the three windows in the conservatory which had issues. Two had 'blown' so in the winter had condensation trapped between the panes and the other had cracked which we think may have been as a result of the numerous earthquakes we have had this year because strangely it was the internal pane that had gone. Anyway Costas arrived as promised at 10.00 am and did what he needed to do before he went across to have a coffee with Lakis and Argy who were in the middle of having their photovoltaic system installed.
Costas explained to John that the new units were constructed differently to the existing ones so that the thickness of the two panes of glass are different and this avoids tension and glare apparently. Anyway it is nice to have them done and at a very reasonable cost bearing in mind things are going up. Ian the Window Film Man will be coming on Monday to measure up to put the window film on as currently we have three windows with and three windows without which looks a bit odd from the outside! I will also get him to go over to Lakis and Argy because they have a window or maybe two that they wanted 'filmed'.
After Costas had been and gone we got a chance to catch up with Nicky and Mark who, for one reason or another, we have not seen for about 3 weeks. Then they were getting ready for the arrival of Mark's sister and husband on holiday and now they have been and gone. We sat out in the garden at the dining table where thankfully we always seem to get a breeze. They were just about to make a move when I got a phonecall from their next door neighbour Pete who had broken down in Paphos and wondered if John might be able to rescue him so John shot off to Paphos and Nicky and Mark went home and I took the opportunity to go and have a bob in the pool.

This is a fantastic photo of Lakis and Argy taken last night when they were at St George's on their own 'date night'. We called round to see them once John had picked up Pete and after the workmen had finished. Both of them, like us were knackered, they too had been up and seen the lovely sunrise but unlike us had stayed up because their workmen came early to avoid the heat of the day. Still it is another tick in the box for them and their home and it is something they were keen to do because the cost of electricity is just rocketing.

We came back home for a quite afternoon and evening just watching some sport on the TV. John is watching the Open at the moment and hoping that the Sheffield guy is going to be successful. We were having a light tea tonight - salad which is my favourite and to be honest I need to lose some weight - it has been creeping up since I stopped walking regularly. I was tempted to leave it vegetarian but John had taken some halloumi and some Armenian sausage out of the freezer so needed to use that up.
So there it is - supper! I managed to eat that, wash and tidy up and then retired to bed hoping that I would get a decent night's sleep. My head was banging but at least we knew that we didn't have to get up for anything specific tomorrow.
