Out with our Neighbours

I am a bit lost for days this week.   Normally I would go to see Mum on a Wednesday but I am going tomorrow to do battle with Primetel her internet provider.  I can feel already that this is not going to go well.  Today we had arranged to go for lunch with our immediate neighbours Gregoris and Dora and we had settled for lunch at the Winery because they had not been there for quite some time and certainly had not eaten there.

Let's just say we were mighty glad that we had booked to go there and secured table 5 which has the best view because it was absolutely packed in there - so many people on holiday.

We were, rightly so, encouraged to place our order sooner rather than later otherwise we might have had quite a wait.  That is easy for John and I who tend to have the same when we go, he a pork chop and me chicken wraps but not so easy for our neighbours who obviously wanted to peruse the menu.

We introduced Gregoris and Dora to Yiannis the owner who in turn introduced us to his son and daughter.  Apparently the previous Winery building which you pass on your way down to the current one is to be turned into some sort of distillery for Yainnis' son who wants to create Gin, Zivania and possibly Whisky!!!

Yiannis regaled us with some stories about his recent holiday to Paros which he deemed to be too hip, trendy and loud for his liking and was gobsmacked by the prices of, well, just about everything.  He said he was too old for all that and preferred to stay where he was!

We had a lovely afternoon sitting out on the terrace chatting and eating.  John got a box of wine for us to take home and both he and Gregoris were given a bottle of Aeon Red Wine from Yiannis as a gift.

In the evening we all ended up around with Lakis and Argy for a few drinks, some nibbles and a chat.  Lakis was explaining that his recent encounter with covid has left him feeling a little weak - I think this is quite a common after effect.  They have a busy day tomorrow down in Paphos sorting out birth certificates and passports I think.  It wasn't a late night for which I was grateful.  The heat had got to me today and I too was feeling a bit weak and whispy and very hot.  Apparently our temperatures are set to rocket again.
