Fair Winds and Following Seas Your Majesty - Your Final Journey Done

John was out this morning on a bike ride with Richard so I was home alone - just call me Kevin McCallister!  There is a couple of weeks until John's Mum, Jackie and Stan arrive so I wanted to give the garden a good prune and then it would have time to recover.  The first to get attention was the golden lantana which I cut back only a couple of weeks' ago and it is back in full bloom.  It's lovely but doesn't smell nice and the flowers drop all over the place and as it has been very windy all season tend to drop into the pool.

It was a cooler start to the day so a good time to do gardening.  I just worked my way round and was getting to the point where I needed a hand when John returned.  He said Richard enjoyed the route - they had taken the bikes down to Limni in Richard's flatbed and then cycled out to Agia Marina and up to the Garden Centre then back down in a big loop.  I was almost tempted to join them this week but my bike has a flat tyre and I didn't want to hold them back.  I really need to get some exercise - I feel really unfit and fat (John says not fat just fluffy and I am not sure if he thinks that is being kind but it isn't helping).

This is not my photograph but it will give you an idea of what I had for my (late) breakfast - a mango and passion fruit smoothie which I made with one of the beautiful mangos we bought yesterday and a couple of the passion fruit Mum had given me with a dollop of yoghurt and some fruit juice.  I was just about to consume it when John came in so shared it with him and it was absolutely delicious.  We have plenty of mangos so that is breakfast sorted for the next few days and if there are any left that are getting mushy I plan to make a spicy mango dipping sauce.  I used to buy one in Paps and it was delicious but has disappeared off the shelves so I have been using my last bottle sparingly.

We had to go out this afternoon to pay the balance of John's mum's accommodation.  We are going to miss the owner Giorgos who will be here briefly on Thursday so were instructed to seek out Roula at the Droushia Heights which we did.

Whilst there I took the opportunity to go to their spa and get some information on treatments available because the plan is that when John and Stan are playing golf we girlies will go there and John had given me a voucher at Christmas and I was saving it to use on this occasion.  The prices look good actually so I reckon we can have something in the morning, then a spot of lunch then something in the afternoon.  I have asked Irene to send me a lunch menu and she has also offered us a discount on treatments not included on this leaflet so that's good - I just need to get it organised.

I had the full body scrub last time I went and it was absolutely amazing so think I may well plump for that again.  Hard to believe that when I went it was in the middle of me getting severe hives and it took about four months before I stopped getting them but fortunately nothing since thank goodness.

We did the last minute preparations for George and Pam's arrival.  They got here safe and sound thank goodness and actually George is looking much better than we expected - we reckon he visibly improved when he stepped out of the car and into the house to see the renovation work that has been done in his absence.  He is delighted.  We left them to unpack and then when George said he was going to go and get a takeaway asked if they would like us to go with them as we hadn't really organised much for tea.  He was more than happy so the four of us took a wander up to the village to grab a meal together.
