Day Two of our little holiday...

It was a beautiful morning - I, for once, had slept well but John had not, apparently my phone disturbed him because it lit up in the night, I can't tell you how often his I-pod does that but he is oblivious!  Anyway I knew that he would want to be up for breakfast early.  People don't understand that having spent so may years of his life away from home he now really has to have a very good reason to be away overnight!  I understand and I let him get on with it.  I wandered up to our roof top terrace to take a photograph of the sun rising!

We had not realised just how beautiful this bit of the coastline is now that they have put a walkway all the way along and it has been tidied up and the hotels have beautifully manicured gardens which stretch down to the walkway.  We agreed that not all progress is bad and for the prices that people are paying they expect a little luxury.

We took an early morning walk through the grounds of the hotel to find our breakfast venue.  I have to say it is a beautiful hotel and there were so many staff racing around like ants to make sure that it was looking at its best as people started to get up for a new day.  I said to John it felt like we were staying in a small village - the grounds are vast.

There was everything you could imagine for breakfast.  But I opted for fresh fruit and a smoothie followed by tea and some exquisite little pain au raisin which were fresh out of the oven.  John went for the full English which I have to say looked really nice - I was tempted but I still felt quite full from our meal the previous evening.

I looked around at the people arriving for breakfast and taking their seats under ancient olive trees with the sun beginning to filter through.  I couldn't imagine what it must be like to experience this every day for a fortnight or how much that costs for that matter!!!

It was lovely, we felt like we had been away for ages.  I sent a text thanking Mum and Lilian for the gift - we would never ever have done anything like this had it not been for them winning the raffle prize - that one night was nearly the cost of four tyres on Mrs Kirby Qashqai!!

I don't know if my friend Stephani had anything to do with the choice of room we got, but I am going to thank her just in case she did because it was perfect save for the fact that all the mirrors were too high for me to see what I was doing with the hairdryer!!!

We got home safe and sound and were greeted by three starving cats!!!!  Not really - we had left food for all of them but I know John breathed a silent sigh of relief to see them all there (as did I).  We had bought some new sails in Jumbos to try and get more shade out the back - the ones Richard gave us were brilliant but a bit smaller - however we think they may well last longer than these so will probably put in an appearance again.

We rounded off what had been a wonderful couple of days by going out for our evening meal - we decided to walk to Inea and have a kebab at Achiles House of Eleni.  It was a beautiful evening and the sun was setting like a ball of fire.  We got to Achiles just as he was opening.

We had a great meal - far too much food, some nice wine and a bit of exercise!  Even better we had a message from Wendy and Bill to say they were coming over to see us.  We are so excited as it has been a long time and we do miss them.
