Ladies Lunch

Today some of the girlies from our estate went out for lunch together - the men do it regularly!  We had set off in bright and blustery weather conditions hence some long sleeves, jackets, cardies and scarves!!!  I was actually pretty muggy so on arrival at Kaponas we decided we would sit outside and then if it rained we could move indoors.

For those of you who don't see me in a photograph this is one that Gail took before the food arrived.  We managed to sit outside for the duration of our afternoon even though it soon began to get chilly and then the heavens opened and we were then faced with monsoon conditions.

The food was good and the wine flowed and we all got a chance to have a good chat and for some to get to know others better.  Initially Ellen had not planned to come because she didn't think we would want some 'oldie' (her words not ours) but we insisted and she really enjoyed herself and she might be a bit older than the rest of us but she is great fun and a valid member of our community.

This is mid October and the weather is never normally like this but the forecast is for it to remain very unsettled for the remainder of the week.  Such a shame for people who have come for a holiday for some sunshine - in fact I think the weather is better in the UK.  I didn't think it felt too cold but the houses just lose any heat they have.

This video will give you a better look at the weather - great for ducks but not anyone or anything else.  John had to come and pick some of us up as it was too wet to walk home.  Still a nice afternoon though.
