A lovely Friday...

I had a dreadful night's sleep.  We had heavy rain during the night and I had put Charlie out before it started because he wouldn't stop scratching on the bedroom door.  I realised that he had not come back in when the heavens had opened.  I assumed that he had probably mooched next door but couldn't be certain so at about 3.00am I was out in my jim-jams calling both him and Boo.  Boo is often out at this time of night so I wasn't so bothered about him.  There was no sign of Charlie so I went back indoors before the rain started again and couldn't sleep so ended up doing my Wordle challenge (what a ridiculous word - glyph!!!) and my card challenge before trying to get back to sleep.  Eventually Charlie did come back home and he hadn't been next door so I have no idea where he decided to take up shelter.  Anyway as a result I was knackered when I needed to get up and go to Neo Chorio this morning for craft but the rain had cleared the skies and it was a glorious morning and once at Anna's Workshop I was glad I had made the effort.

I had bought some sundae dishes in Paps in the week which I wanted to decorate to hold candles.  They are a nice shape and I chose a serviette with butterflies on it for the decoration.  It was very pleasant sat outside working.  Today I sat next to someone I haven't met before - Pauline, who was also doing decoupage but she was decorating boxes.

One of the ladies has a big birthday on Monday and another of the ladies is returning to the UK shortly so there was a double celebration - I was driving so settled for coffee but could have had gin and tonic or prosecco!!!  There was also a nice spread but as we were meeting up with Dip and his brother Kirt for a snack lunch in Latchi I declined any food.  John and I have also been invited around to Jan and Derek's for a meal this evening so we didn't really want to eat in Latchi save for the fact that it was our only opportunity to see Dip and Kirt before they return to the UK.  It's all or nothing at the moment as Jane and John arrive on Saturday and are here for two weeks and then the day after they return my sister arrives and by the time she goes we will be very close to Christmas.

So here are the dishes finished, decoupaged and varnished  I think they look quite sweet.  Not entirely sure who they are for but I have made them just in case I am surprised by someone - this usually happens!!!

I drove straight to Latchi and bagged a table at Molos and was joined by the boys shortly afterwards.  It was glorious sat in the sun chatting and eating and Dip's brother was absolutely blown away by this corner of the island he will most definitely be back in the Spring.  We will be back at Molos on Sunday with Jane and John and Mum.  If it is nice we can sit outside and there is such a varied menu that everyone should be able to find something they are happy with.

I will end with a slightly out of focus photograph from our meal last night.  We had a lovely time and bless Jan for putting on a lovely meal even though she doesn't have everything she needs to hand.  We had starters of baked camembert and spicy prawns and a main meal of New Zealand Lamb leg steaks cooked in a curry sauce with rice followed by a roulade.  We are now beginning to see Jan and Derek's vision as to how the house is going to look.  We thought it might have been chilly in there but John got the YouTube Fire up on the TV screen which has an amazing psychological effect plus they had one of our space heaters which we ended up having to turn off!!!

Thanks Jan and Derek for your hospitality.
