The weather let us down today. It started so brightly up here in Droushia and then just before Jane and John arrived it clouded over. To be fair the same happened in Paphos so it wasn't just typical Droushia weather. We had planned to go to the Winery for lunch and then for a walk. Sadly Jane's John wasn't feeling brilliant so we shelved the walk. We just decided to go have a nice leisurely lunch and although we had planned to sit outside decided to err on the side of caution and sit inside in the wine bar area which was warm.
I like the food at the Winery - one of my favourites there is the Chicken Skewer meal which I have with the honey and mustard dressing and not the tzatziki that it is advertised to come with. This is unusual for me as I don't often go for Chicken as it can be dry. Here is it not! John opted for the pork chop. Not massive but big enough and actually we don't eat as much as we used to - good job too otherwise we would be the size of a house.
Jane and John opted for a meat and cheese platter. Not sure it was quite what they were anticipating and we thought it was rather underwhelming which was a shame but as John wasn't feeling much like eating I don't think he cared too much. It was nice to spend the afternoon together - their holiday is fast coming to an end - they leave on Saturday - we are taking them to the airport.
We did get a little weak sunshine before we left but it was just a token effort really but fortunately when we got back home the conservatory was toasty so we sat in there and chatted instead of going walking. It was probably a wise move.Jane and John went back home and John and I settled down to watch some of the football and I carried on doing some Christmas Present wrapping.
My sister arrives this weekend - it is going to be full on between now and Christmas Day proper and I am beginning to get a bit stressed about getting everything sorted. John will help but sometimes it is quicker just to do stuff yourself.
I am down to see Mum tomorrow - I really am going to have to try and sort out her pension payments because even though the bank have said that nothing changes now that her branch has moved there is no sign of the money coming in. I don't want to worry her but I do feel a battle coming on and I really could do without it. Some of the paperwork required needs to be sent by post which this close to Christmas and with strikes planned in the UK fills me with dread.
