I was up and out early on what was a glorious morning. This was taken through the windscreen of the car. I wanted to capture the vibrant colours - they are so amazing this time of year when you get a clear blue azure sky sitting atop green lush fields.
The main road down to Polis has been closed again as the road which keeps falling away is being repaired yet again. Let's hope this time it will be rather more permanent than previously. It is going to be about 6 months I think with through traffic diverted through Droushia. This makes for an interesting drive particularly if you are caught in amongst someone who had not anticipated the diversion and is lost!
I was on my regular weekly visit to Mum today. I had a list of places to go first which included Lidl on the Mesoghi Avenue. They had some rather nice touch lamps on sale. I smiled as I returned to Kenny because it was a veritable Kembara convention! Three in a row all the "same but different" and the parts people tell me they aren't so popular these days well I think anyone who says that has never owned one!
Mum had gone there in the hopes that the guy who sells supplements might be there - 1fortunately he was and even better he had the cod liver oil and iron tablets mum was looking for at a good price.
Then we had a trip to the other Lidl because Mum wanted some apples which they didn't have but which we managed to get in Paps before ending up at Tea for Two on the Tombs of the Kings Road which is a bit difficult to get to and the carpark rather cut up and puddly.
Mum choses a child's portion of spare ribs and I had a vegetarian breakfast. Talk about cheap as chips as these together with two bottles of water came in at around 12 euros and Mum really enjoyed it.
Her association with Tea for Two stretches back to 1991 when she and Dad were some of Costas's first customers. We are going to lunch with Costas and Jackie on Sunday so that friendship spans over 30 years.
Last week the weather was so grim but this week it was so much nicer, actually warm enough for shorts. I was hot in mums sun room as we sat and did a jigsaw together! On my way home I stopped to take a quick snap at Banana Bay - I have always loved that area although it is changing and the view as you come down the hill not quite as stunning as it used to be when there were less buildings. You can see we have had a lot of rain but fortunately there is non on the horizon for the foreseeable future.
I was super pleased with the new bedside lamps. Not only did they come with bulbs but they are also touch activated and have three levels of brightness. Not bad for 12.99 each.
I have cleaned up the other ones which I loved but they were taller than the new ones so we always worried they would get knocked over by one or other of the cats. I hoped to find a new place for them here in the house but failed so I am going to be a big brave bunny and get rid of them.
Whilst I was at Mums I had a Shein delivery today - John collected it for me from outside the church in Droushia. More of that tomorrow.
I also had a call to say there was a parcel for John at ACS. We will need to get that delivered to Polis it should be the Makita tool I ordered on tintyweb from Greece and which was being delivered on a cash on delivery basis which meant that there was no issue if the damn thing didn't turn up.
