Getting a bit of pampering

John and the guys were out on a mega bike ride today.  Apparently today's was to be a beast and then on Thursday it would be more gentle.  I was going down to the Droushia Heights to use some of the spa voucher which John had given me for Christmas and Gail was going to do the same with the one she had received from Pete.  I was going before lunch to have my trotters done then Gail was joining me for lunch and then she was having her pedicure and I was having a facial.  Bless Gail she doesn't actually like the touching and fussing of going to a spa but wanted her feet sorted because she cannot do that herself at the moment since her operation.

The hotel was looking superb.  Although there were quite a few cars in the carpark and down the road there wasn't anyone much inside so it was lovely and peaceful.  I desperately needed my feet doing as the last time I went was the beginning of December and now there was more re-growth than varnish on my toenails.  Gross!!!

It was lovely having my feet done.  Rafaela is so sweet and because they weren't overly busy both she and Chara spent time having a chat with me.  I decided upon a pinky-beige sparkly varnish this time - to be fair it is going to be a while before my toes are out regularly for public inspection!

I finished and went and sat in one of the squashy sofas to await Gail's arrival.  We had a nice lunch - I went for pasta carbonara and Gail for fish and chips and both were nice and not overly priced bearing in mind we are in a hotel.

I am not sure that Gail was looking forward to her afternoon at all and said she would have to remind herself not to kick the beauty therapist in the face - I said I thought that was a good idea because we would both want to come back again.

Whilst we were sat chatting Gail had a call from the company that she orders her dog food from - when she put in an order at the weekend she included one for me - special Whiskas 7+ pouches for Fat Boy Charlie as he has had those before and likes them.

Funnily enough the delivery driver had rung her from the carpark of the Droushia Heights so she was able to nip outside and get her and my orders.  At the same time I got a text from ACS to say that there were two parcels waiting for me.  I was hopeful that it was the items I had ordered from Ikea at the weekend.

I am pleased to report that Gail did not kick Chara as she had her feet done but she didn't enjoy it either but then she didn't expect to.  I on the other hand thoroughly enjoyed the facial I had in the afternoon - it was a facial and massage all in one and was amazing.

Charlie will be ok for food for a while - a week at least!  He had seven of these boxes of cat food delivered and by the end of yesterday had already troughed about three of the pouches.

My parcels were indeed from Ikea - I have a new drainer which is so much better than the other one that I had and storage boxes for the drawer in the kitchen which houses 'important stuff'.  This is all part and parcel of my spring clean and styling drive.  John just raises his eyes skywards when I move things around.  He hasn't got a clue!
