Our 'tourist' day today started with brunch at the Florabelle Cafe in the Garden Centre. We took a slow drive along the Argaka coast and then up into the hills and managed to get a table although, as always, it was busy at the Garden Centre. Today Michelle tackled something she would not normally eat, avocado, as it was on the bottom of the breakfast stack and she had to admit that actually all it had done was add a creaminess to the ensemble so I am guessing this is something she may tackle again in the future. We have done really well with introducing her to new tastes and textures and she is going to go home and try making some of the Lebanese dishes I have done which is great news.
From the garden centre we took a drive to the Baths of Aphrodite. It was busy so first off we took a walk through the restaurant to have a look at the amazing view before going up through the gardens to see the 'Baths' which are somewhat underwhelming I always think! Still it was a tick in the tourist box and once you have got up the first steepish hill is a nice walk although quite warm today. Michelle has been lucky with the weather although it is due to be quite stormy from Thursday which is the day she is going home.
We had planned a meal at Fitos in the evening, we had been there last time she came and she had enjoyed the swordfish so originally it was going to be just the three of us but I put a general shout-out to the neighbours and both Nicky and Mark and Pete and Gail took us up on the invitation and so we all got together for a lovely, if not noisy, evening!! The food and company were great and a good time was had by all.
It is the birthday celebration tomorrow for Graham which was the main reason for Michelle coming. I need to make sure that Eleni has remembered to get a birthday cake!
