I woke this morning to find that after months Charlie has graced the blue blinkie with his bulk!!! This always used to be Minnie's favourite spot when the previous blinkie was there. Bless Charlie he is up and about all night with me running around after him like a blue arsed fly and then he sleeps most of the day. It looks as though he may have been in a bit of a skirmish as he has a couple of scratches and Jan did say she had seen some blood on him. He isn't bothered about it although he gets a bit shitty when you try and delve deep into all his fur to make sure it isn't a tick.
It is English Easter Sunday and we had been invited by Sheila and Klaus to bring Mum with us for lunch together which was wonderful. Klaus is a great cook and he takes Mum's likes and dislikes into consideration. Today we had beautiful lamb with to-die-for roast potatoes and the sweetest carrots and peas. Mum ate a massive amount for her and even managed to eat a slice of pudding which was swimming in cream!!!
Sheila and Klaus both look amazingly well and Sheila is without her collar which is so much better for her. I am hoping that we might get together in the future to do a bit of craft. I had hand painted a silk picture and turned it into a card and she loved it.
I have to chuckle, when Klaus and Sheila lived in Droushia they fed and cared for a colony of outdoor feral cats but here in Goudi they have fully been adopted by cats which they have had done and which have made themselves very firmly at home. At the door was the little girl cat who wanted in but when I opened the door she took one look and shot off - I was a foreigner and clearly not to be trusted.Sheila and Klaus had dressed the table with a little chocolate Easter gift, the famous Easter earless bunny! I pity the poor children of today because blimey some of the Easter decorations are nothing less than scary!!! I notice there is another man-sized Easter Mickey Mouse on the Peyia/Coral Bay junction.
Anyway we had a really lovely afternoon. Mum ate well and seemed to enjoy herself although she is getting less and less able to start up a conversation which can be hard work and by the time we had taken her home and got back to Droushia it was getting late. I spent the remainder of the afternoon sorting out some paperwork including the current year's winter fuel allowance form which, like Topsy, has grown and it all in Greek but thankfully I can make a reasonable fist of it using Google Translate.
I have my MRIs tomorrow so am hoping for a good night's sleep so I can go feeling rested.
