A lovely day

Getting up early doors to feed the cats provides me with the opportunity to witness the most glorious of sunrises.  It creeps up over the mountain ridge and then before you know it the sun is up in all its glory.  The weather has improved and is now more like we would expect for this time of year.  I love this time of the day - I can sit with the cats and just take time to gather my thoughts before we embark on another batshit crazy day.  I never know what is going to be thrown at me.  My first job of the day was to ensure that Mum had her wifi and her TV was working and to discuss with her what we are going to do about that in the future.  I know she will not have an opinion and leave it to me.  I find it hard to come to the realisation that I have become a carer and I find it hard to see how small Mum's world has become.

The boys went for a cycle ride this morning and then we were having a Lordos 1 lunch together because Gail is going into hospital later this week.  She had chosen the Stone Lion and so eight of us pitched up, Gail and Pete, Nicky and Mark, Jan and Derek and John and I.  It was a lovely day and the view from the taverna was lovely.  Everyone had a lovely meal.  I opted for something different this time rather than the fish and chips or spare ribs.  I had a lovely sundried tomato and roasted red pepper quiche with salad and chips.

I got round to doing some art today for the current challenge which was Something Royal and so I tried my hand at a drawing of Prince Charles.  I am not sure he would be pleased with it but John did say that he thought it did look like him which is good under the circumstances!

We were both feeling pretty tired so didn't do much for the remainder of the day.  We have a busy time ahead of us with visitors - all of whom seem to want to come at the same time.

I need to get organised for my sister who comes on 17th - she is staying this end of the island and I am lending her Katie (KTE) so need to get the insurance sorted.  I am going to suggest to Mum tomorrow that she comes with me to the airport to be there when Kaye arrives and that she takes the next week to think about places that they could go together - that will be a challenge for sure but otherwise we all sit around trying to figure out what to do and where to go.

I am going to Mum's tomorrow because she is off to the theatre on Thursday and thought it would be better for her to being doing something on two different days.  She hadn't thought about it herself.

Just before we settle for the evening I like to go out and put some food down for Mrs Tiggywinkle/Mr Ernle before it gets dark.  Tonight we finally had evidence of the phantom feline paw printer who leaves a trail up and down John's windscreen - it is Mr Boo but he had been our number one suspect anyway.
