Out, Out!!

We had our new bed for the spare room delivered today by the lovely guys at Steptoes.  We knew the bed needed putting together but didn't realise they would do it.  John had dismantled the old one and borrowed Rich's truck to take it to the tip.  We are keeping the mattress.  I had just about managed to sort the four underbed drawers from the old bed and earmarked things for the cat park.  The new bed is lovely but we have agreed the decor needs to change as the old bed was a small divan with pine headboard and the new one is a chunky monkey in charcoal grey with pull out drawer at the end.  We have agreed that things need to change but not when and how!

What we have agreed is that the cats are most definitely not allowed in that room now - Charlie would have that headboard scratched to death in a flash and even though there is only a narrow gap between the floor and the side of the bed both Minnie and Boris have already ascertained that they can squeeze underneath and from there can get into the drawer from the back side - I know because we had to extricate Boris and he wasn't impressed.

I am so looking forward to sleeping in there even though the mattress is the same - it just looks and feels more solid than the previous bed.

The girlies have been very patiently waiting for me to declare myself fit enough to eat out in public so today was the day although sadly it was only Gail, Nicky and me.  For a change we went to Maria's in Kathikas which was new to both the other two although I can remember when it was the village shop!

We had a really lovely lunch - all three of us had sea bream.  We got the legendary garlic bread first and some cake and fruit after and Nicky and I shared a small carafe of white wine with soda for me and lemonade for her.  All very pleasant and almost like being back to normality.

Fresh hay for us both tonight woo hoo.
