A Spot of Gardening

Today the Clan were going down to see Mum and they were all off out for lunch at Baracas (which Mum calls Arabica!)  This meant that I had time to do some cooking and cleaning and gardening which is difficult to factor in when we have visitors and, actually, we have visitors (not necessarily staying with us) now until the second week of December - I shall need to lie in a darkened room for a considerable period of time to get myself ready for Christmas.

I had Physio this morning.  The first of my sessions which I am paying for to continue the good work which the previous 9 GESY sessions had funded.  Firstly though I wanted to go and see the Doctor about the mystery itching I have had in my left arm since my operation.  Last night it was so bad it had kept me awake.  I googled and Dr Google said it could be nerve movement but I wasn't sure - I couldn't see any bites or anything and the itching feels like it is coming from inside like tiny little electric shocks.  Anyway I didn't have an appointment (that system hasn't really reached the Evangelismos in Polis) but at 9.30am there was no-one in the waiting room and the patient in with Dr Manolis was only there for a few minutes which was a bit of a result.  Anyway Dr Manolis confirmed that he agreed with Dr Google and that the sensation was indeed being caused by nerves and could last a year!!!!  He suggested a Vitamin B Complex which I got along with my current prescription.  As I have now reached the €150 euro contribution my prescription for the remainder of the year along with any other GESY funded care will be free of charge.

Physio was a real pleasure pain session but I do think it is having a positive effect - certainly my shoulder is nowhere near as 'crunchy' as it was at the outset.  I told Dr Marios that he had magic hands, he told me his wife says that, I told him that was too much information!  I shall see him and Socrates again next week.  I have learned to recognise who is treating me by looking at their feet through the hole in the bed where my face goes!

John and I made pasties on my return - this was for our Boxing Day on Sunday.  I just about had enough to make the 6 required.  I hope they will be ok - they have been rather hit and miss in the past.  The weather is due to be stormy for most of next week so we probably wont get any sort of walk in but we will be playing the new Present Game or Sac Magique as the 23 called it.  I will probably be the one who goes and gets Mum and takes her back.

I did manage to get in a bit of gardening this afternoon.  There are some areas that I would like to revamp but this is going to have to wait until the spring.
