40 Days to Go...

Monday and work again for me so not a huge amount to report.

At 0800 hours we had our 'early morning call' from the Site Foreman (Dad) just checking on which parts of the property Tim was to paint and, as holder of the purse strings, if there was any more to be paid.   A bit later on today we had some pictures comes through once SF had been up to the villa to check out the work carried out by the Solar Panel plumber and electrician and also the painting of the outside that Tim has been doing.  Its amazing what a difference just a coat of paint can make and it is getting two so it will be doubly good when it is finished.  Only trouble is it makes the pool look even worse as the water is in desperate need of sorting out.  Still when we are there all the time that can be John's domain!

I went to visit Brenda lunchtime.  It was lovely to catch up with her as I haven't seen her for quite a while and in the interim her mum unfortunately passed away.  I will try and make sure I get to see her once a week until we go - we have been through so much together, good and bad at Porter Dodson - we really ought to get round to writing that book we talk about.  I think the Vodka in the Orange Juice has to be a real classic episode!

John has been sorting out the garden today - fortunately it remained dry although not as warm and sunny as at the weekend.  He is dealing with the bald patch left by the shed now that has been taken down and will be ploughing the fields and scattering tomorrow putting down some grass seed in the hopes it comes up a bit before we have our march out - at least we will have shown willing in putting it back to how we took it on.
