39 Days to Go...

Today is a quiet day with not much to report.

Work is getting its pound of flesh before I leave as I was tied up with three meetings today - all about shaping the IT system for the future - and I thought I might get an easy ride before I finished!

John has spent the day evicting spiders.  God they must be confused as I have spent the last four plus years ensuring that they carried on their lives undisturbed!  Whenever John went away he asked if I wanted to know where to find the hoover but I politely declined - once you know how to use those bloody machines you will always have to keep on top of the dust.  I maintain that dust makes me sneeze so it is (a) best left undisturbed and/or (b) left to John to sort out in my absence.

I am concerned though because in one house we had laminate flooring and there is just nowhere for dust to hide - it collects like little balls of tumbleweed and then starts rolling across the floor when guests are due or worse sitting down watching.  The beauty of carpet is that dust can just disappear - what the hell will I do with the tiled floors in Droushia - its going to be like starring in a western - tumbleweed everywhere - or John could dress in black and adopt the Cypriot women's role of sloushing down constantly irrespective of water shortages!

A couple of updates from SF today.  SF and Mum are splashing out on a new pool cover so they are donating us their old one complete with roller which John and SF will have to 'modify' but they are brills at that sort of thing - and how posh are we going to look with a pool cover???  Hopefully it will keep the water that bit warmer and stop unwanteds falling in - dust, spiders, gheckos and the like.

Second and most important bit of news from SF is that the new kitchen starts to be installed tomorrow and SF has to be up there for 8.30 on site.  Bless him - I hope we aren't asking too much of him - and that we can afford his bill at the end of it all!  Picture that follows shows what the kitchen currently looks like so will keep you posted on progress and put up some photos when we have them...  It can only look better!!
