14 Days to Go...

Saturday - the first day of the rest of our lives together... and I was awake at 3.00am not able to sleep with so much going through my mind - like I redid my farewell speech a million times and I never cried once!!

I said to John this morning that I felt like a battery hen who had been set free but I didnt actually know what I was supposed to do with myself!!  I guess it is going to take some getting used to this change in routine - although John is desperately searching through the small ads on the Paphos People website trying to find me some gainful employment so that he can be a kept man!

We said a sad farewell today to the dishwasher.  We realise that in all our years together we have never been without one.  We are a very sad family at the moment - no freezer, no dishwasher and no tumble dryer - good god we will be hugging a tree next and shunning meat!!

We went into town this morning to do a couple of chores and to have a look at what I was going to spend my Jessops voucher on and I managed to get a decent tripod - John and I will both be out soon with our cameras seeing who can take the best shots - and those of you that know us means that we will be terribly terribly competitive!!

We called into Mocha (our favourite coffee shop) for what might be the last time - we have always been made so welcome in there - John has never quite forgotten the humungous piece of carrot cake he was given on his return from the Falklands.  It was just a shame that Tom wasnt there today with Angela - we might have to try and call in once more to say goodbye!

We shot over to Street this afternoon in search of some clothes for John - mission completely unsuccessful as we couldnt find what he was looking for although he did manage to find some sandals in the Clarks shop and we made use of Mum's discount card for the last time.  John is concerned that his little toes are going to pop through the sides and has threatened to wear them with socks now that he is reaching middle age and I have threatened to burn them if he does.  I think he was joking but then he has always been a man who was comfortable in slippers so maybe there is no hope.

We have just settled down to our last Saturday night in the MQs - Fillet Steak which was fab so maybe we wont be tree huggers after all!

We are now watching trashy Britain's got Talent in our jim-jams we may well miss this sort of TV in the future as RIK1 can leave a lot to be desired - the Bold and the Beautiful here we come!!
