Well a lazy old start to today - we were both awake at just about 7.00am! Why is it that when you don't have to get up you wake early and when you do you can't open your eyes???
We spent this morning doing more sorting - we are having real difficulty trying to visualise how much stuff you can get into a small container. We have to remember that whatever is left over we have to be able to take with us in our EasyJet allowance.
I need to tell those of you who have been avidly following our cribbage season that we fell at the last hurdle and have ended up as runners-up by one point. We are gutted - we so wanted to bow out as winners but in the last four years we have contributed to one first place and three seconds plus I was runner up in the singles the first year so that cannot be bad.
It was our last Sunday at the Standard today. We didn't want to organise anything specific so we just went in as normal for the meat draw and a couple of hands of crib. We were unsuccessful in the meat draw which was just as well as we shopped for everything we needed yesterday. On the crib front John and I partnerned each other for once and took on Kev and Terry. I think after 8 hands we probably ended about 25p up!!
It has been the most beautiful day today so on our return John decided to cut the grass whilst I got dinner ready. Our last Sunday dinner at the MQs.
Update from SF today to say that the man from the electricity board had arrived on time - unheard of and pasticularly so as it is Sunday. It looks like we will have our own electricity supply in a week to ten days which will be great.
John is glad that it is Sunday - our profile picture gets changed and he particularly likes the one of us in traditional dress which was taken when I met up with John in Dubai when he was given time off for R&R when taking part in the Iraq war. Only John and I could arrange to go to Dubai during Ramadan - even so we still had a good time as the picture below will testify - not looking our best after an evening in an all you can eat and drink bar!!!

Just a quick note to let you know that once Wednesday comes and the shippers do what they have to do we may not always be able to get to an internet connection to do a post every day but we will do it whenever we can and of course once we get to Cyprus we will continue with our postings to keep everyone uptodate with what is happening in our lives.
