The countdown now starts with a 2!!!
Those eagle-eyed followers amongst you will notice that we did our post early last night because we couldn't trust ourselves after a night out with Vix and Trev!!
Trev has been on a fitness drive and has lost a couple of stone and is looking all the better for it - shame he arrived at ours and had forgotten to do his flies up - good job it was spotted before he made a real exhibition of himself!! Sorry Trev just had to mention it!! But you did look very smart and it is such a nice change to see you out of shorts and flip-flops!
It is early days at the Preston and we were just about the only ones in there but we enjoyed ourselves and could make as much noise as we wanted. There were one or two little problems but Andrea (front of house) sorted them all with very good grace. The quality of the food was just as we had expected and we all enjoyed what we had. I hope that Pete manages to make a go of it but he is really going to have to do something about the dodgy accommodation block at the back of the main hotel building!! It is work in progress at this stage and if his previous ventures are anything to go by then it will be a great place in the end. Although I have to say that after 4 bottles of good red wine it all looked much rosier when we came to leave!
Today John was on a mission as I had found our tablet PC rather cheaper at Dixons online - not wanting to feel seen off John phoned PC World to see if this fell within their price promise as PC World and Dixons are owned by the same company. Guess what, no joy, so John decided not to take this lying down and marched off down to the Store in town to 'have it out' with the manager except he didn't have to - the manager was great and reimbursed the difference without John having to break into a sweat!
SF and TLH had a really good night last night at the Laura Beach 'do'. Mum thinks that the concept is a sound one and it is good to know that Cyprus is beginning to embrace proper facilities for the dignified care of the elderly. I am hopeful that there might be opportunities for her and I there either in a voluntary capacity or more hopefully a paid one!
Today being Friday is fillet night, I was despatched off to M&S lunchtime to purchase a couple of steaks - they are such a good bargain I dont want to broadcast it in case there are none left when I want them but at a fiver each, and they are tender as tender, that's a damn good shout (as Dad would say).
We are going to have to find ways to make Fridays in Cyprus as special as Fridays are here. We love Fridays - particularly if Star Trek is on the telly. As Zebedee would say 'Time for Bed!!'
PS for those of you who cant stand the suspense any longer, we are top of the league, we are top of the league (you need to sing that bit!) however on the same points but with better 'goal' difference - two games left to play - the heat is on...
