First off this morning we had to take the bike down to where we bought it because one of the front indicator lamps wasn't working so John was going to ride it there and leave it and I was going to pick him up in the car so that we could both go off to the hospital to register.
John left the bike and we went off to the hospital - dont think state of the art collection of Nissen huts painted white with people everywhere and cars parked totally at random!! There appears to be a paediatric department and an A&E department and a general building. We managed to find a reception area and dutifully queued up - John busy sharpening his elbows just in case we were the only ones foolish enough to use the queue! When it was our turn the receptionist was brilliant because it transpires that we have to pay €2.00 each time we need to see the doctor and so there was no point putting us on the computer and charging us the fee as neither of us wanted to see a doctor on this occasion. So now we have the system sussed!!
Back at the Villa John decided to start on the tiling in the Kitchen and I was detailed off to varnish the wood round the outside shower and stain the wood for the boundary fencing. I am queen of staining obviously!!!
It was exceptionally hot today, hot and sticky and it has brought out all the grasshoppers in the garden and we get a right old selection big and small!!! I dont mind them except when they decide to fly somewhere near my hair!!!
John really cracked on with the tiling in the kitchen - the tiles are lovely and match the floor tiles really well, they are good quality too because by the end of this afternoon there had been no breakages and no 'bugger its' at all which must be some sort of record in this household!!! Hopefully we should be able to get the remainder fitted tomorrow and then it is just the grouting that needs to be done.
I did the varnishing and managed to get four of the pieces of wood stained so that John could put them up. We are going to get the rest of them done tomorrow. The cordless screwdriver ran out of battery so at that point we decided enough was enough, both knackered we decided to go out for something to eat as neither of us could be bothered to cook.
We called into the village and the post office was still open so we went in and found that we had a parcel from the Lovely Pamments. Amongst other things it contained CHOCOLATE - fruit and nut - WHAT A TREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We ate at Christos's Taverna, Pork Chop for John and Meatballs for me served with chips and salad. Rounded off with some Walnut Glyko (whole fresh walnuts preserved in a honey syrup!!!).
Down to Paphos tomorrow - Mum, Dad, Ray, Janice, John and I are attending a quiz - big money at stake!
