A Day of Indifferent Weather...

We woke this morning to mists and cloud and cool, cool weather - not what had been forecast for this week but at least we know it will be better than back in England.  As typical Brits weather still remains a major topic of conversation - too hot, too cold, too dry and too wet!!!

As the morning progressed the sun gradually began to burn the clouds off so John took Trev on a 'how to look after your pool' lesson on our pool and on the pool next-door.  Vix and I had decided to check out the craft group in Steni this afternoon so we were busy trying to decide what project we were going to take and plumped for making some lavender bags (as we have a mass of lavender available to us) and having scoured the craft magazine that Vix kindly brought found a paper folding project as a back-up.

With the cloud gone Trev found the sun-bed and Vix and I took a walk around the village - we were looking for a property we had seen advertised on the tintyweb but having gone up and down all the streets we could find, we didnt come across it.

So after a quick bite for lunch Vix and I set off for Steni via the woodyard in Polis and called in to have a look around the furniture shop next door.  There was some really nice stuff in there and fairly reasonably priced - we were quite taken by a carved wooden trivet that transformed into a fruit-bowl but at €20 (knocked down from €25) not that taken!!

We found the craft group and were made to feel very welcome by the ladies that were there - in fact one, called Jill, I have met somewhere before but we cant remember where!

The group is a chance to meet people and have a coffee and a chat even if you dont really want to do anything 'crafty'.  Vix and I started out making lavender bags - I am suprised we werent asleep as the smell was so strong!!  Vix then moved on to the paper folding whilst I continued to make a lavender bag for all the people at the group!

Before long we had been invited to return next Thursday and also to enjoy the craft group that lunches on Wednesday in Neo Chorio!  We may well do that providing it is not going to stop us doing something else.

We decided to drive back via Lysos - en route we had a call from Mum to say that it was pouring with rain in Paphos!!  Although the distance on the map looked short it was obviously not built by the Romans and at some point I thought we were in danger of ending up in Pyrgos!  We eventually made it back to civilisation passing by what we think is going to be the new golf course at Limni before quickly shooting into Paps to get the beef for Sunday's dinner and then checking out the cakes in the patisserie (and the home made ice-cream) before heading home to the boys who had spent the day checking out the various 'coffee' shops in the village.

Although we have had a few spots of rain nothing more than that so far - so I think we have been lucky.  We are staying in this evening and currently playing Wii bowling!  We are planning a trip to the turtle beaches tomorrow weather permitting!
